Experiences with SELLING to Bag Borrow or Steal

It took BBOS about two weeks to get back to me with a quote on a Chanel that I was looking to sell. Their offer was ridiculously low and I would be hard pressed to consider them again for getting rid of my unused bags. I wound up selling it to another consignment service (who also offer direct buyouts) for a much better price. But who knows? Maybe they've improved since then, my experience with them was when they first launched their purchase service.

Same with me. Although it only took them a few days to get back to me with a purchase offer, it was offensively low. And I too sent in my "sell" request when the service was first launched. Perhaps they've come to their senses about what is "fair" to offer for items. For all who have had a good experience with it...

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I accepted their purchase offer and sent my bags in. I did think their offer was a bit low, I had hoped to get a bit more but decided I just didn't have the time to list on ebay and this just seemed easier.

It took them about 2 weeks to get an estimate to me. They offered me a very low price on a Chloe Paddington Satchel (big tote-sized bag) - that had only been used once and had its tags from Neiman Marcus. $350. I opted not to sell.

I did use their handbag cleaning service, and while reasonably priced compared with other companies, they took two months longer than the original estimate. So, it took me 3 months to get my bag back. The cleaning was pretty good. But 3 months is a long time. It was a suede bag, so the season was over before I could use it.

I've inquired with them about two different bags - one was $1500 Marc Jacobs bag that I used 2x (could have passed it off as new), the other was a $2100 Jimmy Choo bag that had been gently used for around 3 mos (no evidence of wear). Both bags had all of their tags, care cards, cert of auth & sleepers. They offered me two options - one was a cash payout, where they sent me a check, the second offer was a credit with them. I thought both offers were way too low - the "cash" price for each of them was in the $400 range, the "credit" was in the $600 range.

I ended up selling both bags myself (the MJ for $995 and the JC for $625). They contacted me a few days after I sold the Jimmy Choo and offered me 10% more, but I replied that I had already sold my bag for a higher price than they offered me.

Honestly, I've never recd reasonable offers from other consignment stores either. They've always been around half of the price I ended up getting on ebay.

I had a pretty good collection of authentic coach bags some used and some new with tags. They sent me a number of quotes and I sent them the bags. I sent a box last friday and one today. I'll keep you posted on whether they actually pay me what was promised or if i need to get a lawyer tor recoup my things.oday. I got an offer, too, and agreed to sell to them. It was an MK satchel that retailed for $398, I got from TJ Maxx at $189, and BBOS' offer was a check for $66 or store credit for $99. I checked *bay before selling and saw that there were tons of the same bag that were not getting any bids at all with the lowest at $99. So I passed on doing it myself on *bay. But for my premier designer bags I might just sell them myself!

i think if you sell to a consignment store, you always get a lower price than what you will get on ebay if you sell by yourself. they just have to factor in their other costs and take the risk of the bag not selling, so that's why they always offer pretty low price, the stores that have a physical store also needs to pay for the rent and staff. i would try to sell the bag on ebay if you can...

I received an offer for my Chloe. Wasn't too bad. Probably a little less than what I would get on eBay. Considering stress and time I consume on those do-it yourself sites, it may be worth it. My problem is I know I would be sad to let it go(!).

I received an email today from a sister company of BBOS advertising that you can sell your gently used high-end bags to them and receive payment within 3 days from the time you fill out an information sheet, they make a bid and you send them the bag. Has anyone used this service and if so, I have a few questions: are they reputable and do they offer a fair bid? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I wasn't sure where to ask. Thanks!
