Experiences with SELLING to Bag Borrow or Steal

Once I reviewed the details of the consignment agreement, it seemed terrible.

They have full pricing authority and provide no estimate beforehand.

They keep your item for 120 days.

They have the right to discontinue any time. I do not.

So basically I have no ability to decide if the price is worth it to me.
Wow, no way does a reseller get price control on my consignment!

And no fees, absolutely?

Fees? Unless you means by consigning? Well have you gotten a quote from BBOS? Did you consign or buy out? I selected buy out because I didn't wanted to wait. They offered me a good price and I selected agree and print out a pre paid shipping slip from UPS. I will advise you to drop it off at UPS store and get receipt. If you are scared UPS might lose your package, you can select your own carrier and have it insured... but you're paying that out from your own pocket. Anyway I explained very clearly the whole process so I'm not going to explain again. Anyway Fashionphile is very quick as well... if you don't want your money to be deducted via PP ... ask FP to send you a check. Hopes this help.

I think ebay still have good reviews and since you are the seller then you have the authority to put it on bidding if you have an account there. Many people are also familiar with it then you might got a chance to sell it on a good cost.

Just tried to consign a pair of brand new Jimmy Choos with them and they wouldn't even give me a quote! They said I first had to send the shoes to them before they would determine the price. And if I were to do that, then I would have no say over the price as they would be listed at BBOS' complete discretion. While our interests aren't divergent here as it would be in everyone's interests for the shoes to sell for the highest price, I could not accept a consignment contract where I had zero say over listing price. For those who opted to accept the contract, were you happy with the price your item was listed and sold for?

That's strange, I normally list my items for sell and get a quote a day after. I wouldn't have sent it in without knowing the quote. Some of the quote they offered was very low and offensive IMO. Hopefully you will get everything sort it out.

Perhaps I should resubmit for sale instead of for consignment. Even still, pretty ballsy of them to expect customers to submit their items to them in blind faith without a price quote.

I know there are numerous posts already regarding consigning/ selling to BBS but still decided to open this new post to share with all the bag lovers my recent three experiences working with them. So far, I'm extremely pleased with their selling option (direct purchase in Yoogi's terminology). I sold my bindi tote, beige medium classic flap and vintage maxi to them in the past few months and the overall turnaround time has been within three weeks from submission to payment in each case.

General timeline: submission--2 to 3 business days quote received--shipping and evaluation for 6 to 7 business days and once inspection is completed the next day you get direct credit to your PayPal account!

Their offers, compared to Yoogi's or Fashionphile (at least the styles that I sold) are much higher and they were even willing to match price of a competitor's offer.

I would totally recommend working with them if you decide to sell your preloved pieces:)

I have sold to them before and also had a good experience. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I used Bag Borrow or Steal (BBOS) here in the US for one LV bag and I was very pleased. The way it worked was that I sent them pictures (a lot of them) and they examined and decided whether they wanted the item to be sent to them.

THey liked the bag, offered me a price pending their in-person inspection and authentication of the bag. They emailed a prepaid shipping label so it cost me nothing to send it.

Then I sent and they examined, decided that they'd buy it, sent me a check and I was done!

They bought it outright so I didn't have to deal with buyers and in my case, the amount they paid me was more than I would have netted on ebay after fees.
