Yeah, BBOS backed out on the offer, that's so inappropriate.

I disagree with your statement. They make an offer for a certain amount (check or store credit) pending their inspection of the bag. This is clearly spelled out in the terms as you go through the process. Here is the quote from the offer quote:

"Our cash offer is XXXXX USD. This offer is good for 7 days and is contingent upon inspection, authentication, and final acceptance once we have the item to review."

If they receive the bag and see any sort of not 'like new' condition or authenticity issues, they have reserved the right to decline and clearly let you know this before you even decide to follow through. Plus they cover shipping so you aren't out shipping fees (only insurance/dc if you choose to pay for these options...and I would always pay for these options personally). And since they are out shipping fees both ways, I am sure they would prefer this not to happen as well.

I was interested in purchasing a pre-owned bag and spoke to the live chat about the condition since there is only 1 pic. She told me they can't pull the merchandise to inspect but only accept 'like new' bags so the condition should be excellent. I guess they don't want to bother listing even minor issues with the bag and having to take extra pics so they will just decline bags even with minor blemishes. This is my best guess :smile1:

And no, I do not work or know anyone at Avelle. I have sent in only 2 bags but had a good experience both times. If my bag did get sent back, no biggie (but yes I would be disappointed so I do sympathize with the few this has happened to). I would then just go through the hassle I was trying to avoid of selling it myself.

:goodpost::ps::urock: They are VERY up-front with how the process works. They are in business to make money, as all businesses are. I don't get the anger and complaining about them that I've seen in a couple of threads here. People are free to either sell a bag to them, or sell it themselves on an online auction site.

do you know how long once they have your bag the "inspection" process takes?

If you read your offer quote this is answered for you. Also you can live chat with CS on their site for questions regarding their procedures & timeline.

"Once we receive the item and it passes our inspection and authentication process, we will automatically receive it into our inventory and remit payment to you. The evaluation may take 2-4 business days once your item arrives. We will then mail the check or credit your account, and notify you via email."
