Well the handles are a tricky thing to document... But we can try!

The handles change a lot though. They stretch, and as the body of the bags becomes smooshier I find that even though I am not a small person I can wear the city's and twiggy's handles on the shoulder. I don't own a work but I think it's the same.

i own a work and i can wear it on the shoulder, it's more comfy that way...

Did anyone but me notice the straps got a little thicker on the GH city bags? It seems like my reg City handle is thinner. To me the wider GH straps make it more unwieldy, i.e. the flopping over of the handles getting in the way of the shoulder straps? Opinion? Also the step NEEDS a shoulder strap in my estimation. The double handles on the step aren't quite big enough to comfortably slip over the shoulder (for me anyway). Wonder if it would be possible to "order" one for my new jaune step from Blaenciaga? I think this is a design flaw but I don't know if they'd see it that way!

I've never carried my part-time with the shoulder strap, but yesterday when i saw pictures of vanessa hudgens (http://justjared.buzznet.com/galler...ale&pic=hudgens-tisdale-shopping-spree-17.jpg) carrying her black GGH PT with the strap hanging down, it looked really cute and i immediately got mine to attach on to see how it looks.

...strangely, my shoulder strap feels just barely long enough to stretch across the bottom of the bag so it looks really strange. how is it that hers hangs so low?? i've actually been obsessing about this all last night and this morning, because it really baffles me. my only theory is that she has a city so it's not as wide as my PT? but...in the pictures it looks like she has the PT.

im baffled. ideas?

here's more pictures:

i feel it's pretty broken in...i carry it everyday to work for the past 2 months...though i've never carried it with the strap attached...is that why? i need to carry it w/strap for a while?

There was some PT strap discussion in another recent thread, and whether they have been shortened. I don't think so. Mine are new, so I can't predict what wear will do as to length, but they do not look like the VH bag. I measured the leather part only of my spring '08 bag and compared it to a violet PT from fall, in response to a request. Both have GH. The fall strap was only 1/8 of an inch longer, which seemed to be within a normal margin of error. I can't say as to earlier seasons.

good to know im not alone in this observation! is it at all possible she's carrying a city that only looks like a PT because she's so small? so the strap looks longer relatively? i can't really imagine how much stretching would be needed to get my strap to be as long as it seems to be in the VH pictures.

^^karenab, im going to check out the clubhouse thread as we speak...;)

the ones in that thread im looking at all have the same short strap as mine, i think...you can see they barely stretch across the bottom of the bag......check it out! (took these pictures from cracker - hope you don't mind!)

Yep - they stretch. When I first got my bbag I thought the strap was wrong b/c on all the celebs or in magazines it looked like it does on VH in the links you posted. The more I wore the bag on my shoulder the strap stretched SO much - I wanna say it's like double it's size now - like the pics of it on VH - which IMO, kinda sucks because now the strap hangs to the point where you see it hanging so low off the bag. I liked when it was new, the strap was short enough to not really be seen behind the bag when you were carrying it on your arm or in your hand :shrugs:

After seeing the pics of new bags, I guess it really stretched. That's a lot of stretching and I always see her carrying it on her arm. Strange. But you can see the handles are really stretched out nicely.

I've had my bag nearly 3 years - and only within the past few months have I noticed the strap is really long - and it's because I started wearing my bbag with the strap on my shoulder only within the past year.
