Ok, my suggestion: we can mention their strap/handle length and also their drop and have some modeling pics.
For example, before I saw pics of the giant hobo I thought it would have looked very different when worn, then I saw a pic of fayden wearing it messenger style and was intrigued!

Oh no! I just bought a f/w city from Aloha Rag, but the strap seems shorter than what's posted below for a city -- maybe I'm not measuring it correctly?

Measuring the leather part of the strap only, the length is 19", and measuring the strap to include the bales and the "hooks" the length is 24". I know it's only half an inch, but I'd hate to find out that someone switched straps with a first.

Could one of you ladies with a city bag measure your strap for me?

I just measured both of my cities (one is an 05 and one is an 07) and the straps are 24" (19" for just the leather part). I'm not sure where the 24.5 came from :shrugs:

danae - what about the old hobo messenger (the one the new women's besace is modeled after)? I'm assuming the 50" measurement you have their is the measurement for the more rectangular flat messenger, right?

The handle drop on my city varies:

At rest: 4 inches
When the bag is smooshed down: 6 inches

Circoit, I took the measurements from ateliernaff last month when it still had the bbag posts. Unfortunately I don't own a flat hobo so I can't be too sure... If someone who has one can measure the strap it would be great!!

Someone posted at one point that the strap length was not the same between two Part Times, RH that they had (from two different seasons). I can't remember who that was. (??) anyone?

Great post. Thanks. I am trying to figure out the shoulder drop and/or strap length that allows a bag to be comfortably worn over the shoulder but also carried. If height matters, I am a shorty-- 5'3".
