I know it can be confusing with different leathers called similar names, but this thread is for Barenia Faubourg only.

Lucky you! I have browsed through loads of internet content, and it is the first time I noticed that BF is made into a K28 (I could only found K25 or K32 previously). Congratulations on getting this bag in the perfect combo!

After reading the past few pages of this thread I am falling in love with this leather! I haven’t had the opportunity to see (in person), touch or smell this leather yet. But I’ll ask my SA if they have anything for me to admire. :)

For those who have bags in Barenia Faubourg, would you say it’s heavier than bags made in different leathers? For example Evelyne in clemence vs BF? I’m concerned about weight for my bags.

Second question, is there a difference between Barenia Faubough vs just “Barenia”? Or is BF and Barenia used interchangeably. Thank you for any insight you can provide.

I do not notice any measurable difference in weight from my togo bags. If anything BF is marginally heavier but it would be very small.
BF is the same as Barenia, except BF is grained leather and Barenia is smooth.

Feels like my BF B30 is a bit lighter than my Epsom B30. Although the Epsom is a Sellier so not sure if they use more leather.

I have heard that the BF leather in terms of rigidity is in between Togo and Clemence meaning Togo bags will keep its shape better than BF. Do you find this true in your experience?

Construction of a Sellier requires an extra layer of leather between the inner and outer ones- this is what gives it it's "extra" rigidity. This might also account for the difference in weight between your bags ( especially since Epsom is supposedly light). HTH

Hmmm I don’t have any clemence Birkins but I have two togo B35 and one BF B35 and I personally thing they BF is almost a little more rigid or holds it’s shape just a bit better?

Thank you for your insight and clarification of Barenia and BF! I will be requesting a BF. I like the grained look more.
