For the original (smooth) Barenia please post here:

Yesterday I got caught off guard which is pretty silly bc it pours every afternoon here this time of year. Thank goodness I had BF with me and not something else. It’s the wettest it’s gotten but dried perfectly in no time.

Thank you for sharing your photos! It rains here every afternoon too, but I've been afraid to carry my BF B30 (my first B!!!) ! I feel so much better after reading this thread and seeing your photos! I will try to take her out and not worry so much now!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. The photos say a thousand words.

You’re all very welcome. It rains tons here in summer so if I waited for a totally clear day to wear my bags they’d never go out. I absolutely adore my BF bag bc she’s so pretty and yet so hardy. BTW Barenia smooth Is just as good in the rain. Both BF and Barenia are just the best leathers in my opinion.

I was just about to ask this question - would traditional Barenia do just as well in the rain? I thought that Barenia stains easily, but am glad to hear that I may have been wrong.

...and there I was not enjoying the 1000% humidity while walking down Rush Street in Chicago with my Birkin BF and my husband (normally I would write DH but there was nothing darling about him on that walk) when all of the sudden, a downpour that was far better then our hotel shower started on us. I didn't have a chance to dig out the raincoat nor did I have an umbrella (because I am so CARELESS.). What I did have was my husband yelling at me about how CARELESS it was to bring a BIRKIN on our walk and how I RUINED it and how he was going to TAKE it and RUN into a restaurant and that he COULDN'T IMAGINE that I RUINED it, just RUINED it. Do you feel my pain? I think I must how scowled at him even with the 3 gallons of fresh Botox and scooted right into Gibsons..soaked. The Birkin looked like a golden Dalmatian, I knew that bag was going to be fine because of this forum, he did not nor would a Gibson's famous 5 ounce martini ease his misery, nope we had to go RIGHT back to the hotel. What was going to happen in the hotel that couldn't happen after a stiff martini?
Well, enough with my story, you know how it ends. She was perfect in 20 minutes. You could actually watch the raindrops fade. What a bag, what an amazing Hermes leather the BF is. I ADORE it (shouting) so don't be afraid if you get caught like I did. Had a Lemon drop at RL instead and DH bought.
Lol  I love that your husband was so concerned. Mine wouldn’t even have a clue. He’d be like “why are you acting so weird?” as I try to stuff an entire birkin under my dress

Thanks for all your information on this forum. I am now a proud owner of this gorgeous leather!

I can’t help but give it a good sniff (despite the risk of leaving a nose print) and I now understand what everyone has been talking about the smell! I even gave my togo birkin a sniff for comparison and I can now totally see why everyone here is in love with this leather!

Oh, that's a beauty! I saw it briefly on the H site, but it was gone in a flash- congrats :heart::heart:

hi all Barenia Faubourg lovers.. i recently bought the mini Aline bag in what the sales and invoice says Barenia Faubourg 34 - but it doesn't look like it. Is it possible Hermes wrongly labelled the bag?

Just in case this ever happens to you...

Almost died today! :wtf: I had NO idea how a speck of (what I think to be) red wine got on my BF Birkin. I always keep my bag FAR AWAY from me when eating or drinking. Granted, it was a speck and I know these things will happen if I carry the bag, but as my SA said, the first is the worst! I remembered reading that water works wonders w this leather so a dabbed a little on...my mistake was rubbing...DO NOT EVER RUB THIS LEATHER...bec you will “flatten” the grain. I thought I made it worse, but DH days it looked about the same. After I got home, I tossed and turned for a few hours...couldn’t sleep so I started researching and found this thread, and a few others. I ended up dabbing the spot w a wet q-tip, then applying corn starch. OMG What happened next was MAGIC! The spot disappeared! View attachment 4448407 (Crazy how different lighting affects the picture, but you can see the offending spot in the before picture and then, VIOLA!, it’s gone!)
So happy to hear the stains were gone! In case I need to treat mine, do I just sprinkle the corn starch over the spots and wipe it off? Thanks!
