I know it can be confusing with different leathers called similar names, but this thread is for Barenia Faubourg only.

I finished reading the entire thread as I’m waiting for my BF Mini Roulis to arrive! And I’m super excited! I’m an H bag newbie and have been having a hard time getting a Mini Roulis since I don’t really have an SA to work with at my local store (and unfortunately SAs in my local store are also not too friendly every time I go inside their store…). Anyhow, since I don’t really wanna deal with the whole H journey just to get a non-quota bag and I’m always too late to get the bags on H website, I decided to go the personal shopper route. At first I want a gold evercolor with gwh. I have an evercolor Halzan 25 I got from FASHIONPHILE and really like the leather so I thought I’d just get another evercolor bag, and evercolor Roulis is a lot more common anyway than BF. But to my surprise, a couple of weeks after I hired the PS she found a BF Roulis from an oversea H store!! Before she found the bag I’ve heard of BF leather and didn’t know much about it so I’m glad to find this thread! I hope I’ll love it in person since all the bags I see here look gorgeous in this leather! I’ll post more pics when I get the bag. But for now, these are the pics my PS sent to me when she was shopping for me at the store!

I finally got my BF mini Roulis today from my personal shopper!!! This is the first time I’m touching and seeing this leather IRL and I’m still kinda mesmerized by it. It’s so different from leather from other brands or even my evercolor Halzan lol! It has this subtle scent that smells so good (I’m addicted to leather scent lol!). And the leather texture is so…..organic and the color has depth and not flat. In fact, when the PS sent me photos I noticed this “scratch” and now that I have it in person and I’m inspecting that “scratch” under different lighting and angle and I’m not even sure if that’s actually a scratch…it’s more like a natural irregularity (“birthmark”) that’s part of this leather?? Do your BF bags have irregularities like mine too, like it looks like a scratch but up close you can tell the surface isn’t damaged and there are variations in the color. Anyway, here are so pics, don’t know if you can see the mark I’m describing.

BF will “scratch” a lot as it develops its patina.it is part of the beautiful growing paints of barenia smooth or fauvourg. Enjoy your bag!

I know the bag will develop patina. But I’m saying even the leather itself when it’s brand new seems to have variations in colors and texture, like it’s not “uniform.” Perhaps that’s why it doesn’t look “flat.” I hope I am making sense here lol!

I hear what you are saying but it with “scratch” very very easily. It looks like a variation but that variation will spread with use and will continue to develop until the patina is all over. BF or smooth barenia won’t be uniform looking unless it’s completely untouched. It marks very very easily and that leads to the development of the patina.
