Everyone has a NEVERFULL

Maybe I am the only one who does not own a Neverfull? Some of us do exist, but not for this reason...

It's because any time I bend over to pick something up while wearing a tote bag, I manage to dump the contents right over my head and onto the ground. Still doesn't change the fact that they look practical and durable as heck and can be a serious workhorse of a bag.

I have no dog in this fight but seems as I have gotten older I could not care less about what other people are wearing/carrying/doing, and even less so as it applies to what I am wearing/carrying/doing. Projecting strange thoughts and feelings onto other people you don't know just seems like too much work and emotional energy, and doesn't give credit to the other person (they might be hella cool!).

Buy what makes you happy and works best for you and your lifestyle.

I recently picked up on this forum because I’m pondering a new purchase. I have gone back and forth on the Neverfull for years - not because everyone has it....lol I’m worried the strap drop will not fit over my shoulder. As a full figured woman this is my concern. I love the look and anytime I see one out and about I think how cute they look. Decisions, decisions?

The GM size has more room on the shoulder. Go into the store and try them on to see which size feels more comfortable.

I’m a fill figured woman, as well, & both my MM & GM Neverfulls fit over my shoulder comfortably. If there’s an open boutique near you, definitely go try them out for yourself. I don’t carry my MM in the fall & winter because it’s fabric, but my GM even fits over my shoulder when I’m wearing my Overland Bomber Jacket, which is pretty thick. Hope this helps!!!

No it does not bother me at all. The neverfull is kind of an entry level piece (given its more “affordable” price point) so it makes sense that “everyone” has one. I have 2 and one of them for 10 years and the other for 6 and I still love both of them and wear them despite branching out to other luxury brands. Wear what YOU like and forget the rest!

I wish it was that easy. The closest store is NYC 5 hours. Not doing much travel these day’s. I read the strap drop is the same for the MM and GM. Do you think the GM has more of flexibility? Or curvature when under the arm?

I totally get the hesitation behind buying something a lot of people have. This bag is very common (maybe less so these days)... if that really bothers you then it's definitely not for you. This is not a bag that will make people do a double take and say "wow what IS that mysterious bag" lol. But it's a great, functional, versatile bag that will last you a long time and probably will never look dated because it's unlikely to get discontinued. In my opinion, the durability of LV canvas + versatile tote shape is just a winning combo... never felt the need to get another tote after I bought this (minor exception is a basic Longchamp for the zipper/waterproofness).

I had an MM and sold it for a GM (even though I'm just 5'3). I find the straps longer on GM but that could be because more room = more things to carry = leather straps stretching a bit under the weight. I like the GM because you can fold in the sides for a little more security if needed. My husband was afraid I'd get pickpocketed in Barcelona once because of how wide open the top is but I challenged him to grab something from the zippered compartment while the sides were folded in and he couldn't. :graucho:

Edit: Another factor with the GM is, because it's very hard to fill such a large bag up to the very top, your arm will usually lie more comfortably against your side. On the MM, it's much easier to fill that bag and increase the width. It used to drive me crazy that my arm would have to lie at 45 degree angle due to the MM being full with my daily things (as a commuter in NYC).

The reason why you're interested in this bag is because everyone has it. Mention an LV bag that no one has and I bet you're not interested in this bag.
It doesn't matter if everyone owns this bag, it's how YOU style it that matters. If you still think this bag is too common, there are many other brands that have similar style. You might wanna check Louboutin, Valentino Garavani or Saint Laurent totes.

I felt I had more room around my shoulder with the GM. Lalame gave some great perspective on both bags. I can see how your arm would lie better against the GM. Ultimately I didn’t chose the GM size because the bag was too large. If that doesn’t matter to you and/or you’ll be filling the bag with many items, the GM may be the best option for you.

I totally agree!! I’m an NYC commuter too & my GM is much more comfortable for carrying my work items because it’s never full to the top. Even with my lunch bag in it some days, there’s still enough room for my arm to sit comfortably.

Hi! I was watching YouTube yesterday and randomly ran across a full figured woman who talked about the differences between the MM and GM on her body. She said the straps are longer on the GM and she mentioned that she can't get the MM on her shoulder. Here is the link
