Please read prsgrls response again: Calling people that can afford to spend thousands on something that is absolutely not a necessity and can be bought for 20 bucks at TJMaxx “basic” is an insult to the people who bust their butts every day just to get to that “basic” level.

she clearly was offended.
Nope, not offended. Just giving my opinion on the matter.

I feel like the insult “basic” gets thrown around a lot. What isn’t considered basic anymore? People like to think they’re different or unique but odds are they are just like everyone else and have an inflated ego. No one is setting any trends but celebrities & influencers—they are given the latest clothes/bags that companies want to push. LV is handing out bags like candy to influencers. I mean here in LA I see pretty much every brand everywhere. Does that mean Hermès and Dior are basic too?

Just buy what you like. Why would it be embarrassing to have something others have? Who cares? If that really causes embarrassment I’d say the problem is confidence level—not the bag.
Why not say to the other person “hey you have great taste” and make a friend? “Basic” is just thrown around to tear other women down. Literally sounds like a teenager’s desperation to “not be like other girls.” A grown woman with confidence shouldn’t be concerned with what others think.

That being said if you want your neverfull to be !!DIFFERENT!!, why not buy a limited edition one? I have a Hawaii one I love!

Just because I appreciate nice things doesn’t make me elitist. They do not define my personality nor my beliefs and morals. To call someone basic and say that you’re embarrassed that everybody else owns a neverfull is elitist.

Elitism: the attitude or behavior of a person or group who regard themselves as belonging to an elite.

This is the perfect example of elitism in motion. Grow the **** up.
Where is the dislike button? That last sentence was immature and unnecessary. You can make a point without resorting to aggressive foul language.

I’d love to see your collection of Neverfulls. I have two - a mon monogram and a Roses.
I posted pictures in the clubhouse.... I think. Here are some. Apparently I have more than I thought because my black Epi with hot pink is not in these pictures. I’m also pretty sure I have another Neverfull but pictured.....I’m sorry it is not just the neverfulls. I can’t find the Neverfull only pictures in my phone!

I don’t have the Roses! The Ikat collection started me down this path.... I want a mon mono Gm....gotta pic colors!

Call me what you want, but isn't she beautiful??

It is true that many people can't afford life necessities, it is true that LV is a luxury (that's why it is called "luxury" - it is not affordable for everyone) but there are also people who work hard and who deserve to spend their money in the best possible way THEY (not me or you) can think of. Money is just a measure of the effort and the hard work someone did, money is meant to be enjoyed - they are not the evil, they are a measure. I'm quite happy to help other people but I'm not willing to spend 10-12h/day working for someone else, who is too lazy to educate, learn, work hard...

Because of all above and because I believe that every person is responsible for their own life, I do not care what people will say and I do spend some of my money on luxury, aka useless, items :angel::angel:

I LOVE the blue escale NF and if things line up for me, I just might splurge and get one to celebrate a milestone.

My advice is, if you ever feel embarrassed then dont buy it, don't do it. Because it says you actually don't love it taht much . Depends on where you go, I see same amount of Chanel flaps like the neverfull. It would be basic if one just wants a style because everyone has it.
I am a guy and sometimes I do carry womens collection and I have often bumped into girls that carry that same bag! In the eyes of many it's more embarrassing than the neverfull case. But I would rather appreciate those who carry the same bag like me as we have the same taste on certain things.

I agree... some might even consider the classic black flap basic! It’s true ...I’ve heard that before. A bag that retails for over $5k is basic?? There are purse snobs everywhere! I’m a snob in that I like to carry classic handbags with some variation so it’s a lil different from what’s common. If I was to ever buy a Neverfull, I’d get it in epi leather in the galet color...but for now I like my goyard St. Louis totes. Some think this is the most basic of goyard totes, but I love them! it’s a personal decision and you have to decide what camp you’re in—-from your perspective is the bag you’re considering more classic or is it more basic? And I mean basic not in a negative way but as in ubiquitous.
