Everyone has a NEVERFULL

I personally, am not a Neverfull fan. It's nothing about it being basic (I own a DE Speedy afterall ), genuinely - I am too cheap to spend the dough on one; and honestly, totes are not my style for out-and-about if I'm going to dinner or shopping (I don't like carrying big bags when shopping - I think it's a carry-over from having a baby-face for too long).

I think with the micro-bag trend, I realized I can really downsize what I carry (my old Balenciaga City, for instance, feels HUGE now). As long as I can fit my phone, a card case, a round ZCP, lipstick, and now my mask/sanitizer, we coo'.

Work-wise - when not remote, whenever I go back to the core - I tend to bring a smaller bag (whether it be a smaller top handle, or a cross-body mini bag) and then carry my laptop (if I bring it home at night) in a Longchamp or Marc Jacobs saffiano tote I picked up at Nordstrom Rack. Even for travel, I've never really found a reason to justify the NF for my lifestyle.

ETA: I also feel like I see as many Chanel Flaps (all sizes, including Boy) as I do Neverfull's out and about. It could be confirmation bias; or it could be that the folks I see carrying bags have moved to smaller bags as we are still in lockdown for a few more weeks (oy....). Basically, I went to one of the outdoor malls about two weeks ago to hit up Shoppers and look at clothes in windows... saw two flaps, but no Neverfulls. :oh:

I don't have a Chanel Flap, either. Again, I don't like them cos I want bags that aren't ubiquitous. That's why the only Chanel bag I have is a vintage hobo with tassel.

I love Neverfull and don't really care if others have it. The one I have is quite unique, it has the Hawaii V logo on one side and regular monogram on the other so if I feel like I want to standout/blend in, I can switch the sides to wear it. I love that it fits everything I need including my laptop. I don't regret it one bit, the only regret is not getting it sooner when it was under the 1k mark

I think the neverfull is a very practical and casual bag that can stand wear and tear. I sold mine after 3 years because I was not getting use out of it. I had intended to use it for work but then I changed my job and it did not fit my work or lifestyle anymore. I actually made a profit of $400 which is crazy. The price increases and the limit in supply is really pushing up the resale market.

I don't think it has a 'basic' tote look because you have the drawstrings on the sides which can be clinched and that changes the ascetics of the bag, although I have not seen many people do this. I've never seen the neverfull in central London but I've seen it sooo much in the midwest.

I see a lot of LV on middle-aged women in the midwest and have yet to come across younger people wearing any type of LV. Although this could be due to the higher cost of LV in the states and the extortionate education costs here.

I think the reason you see it a lot in the Midwest is because LV is probably the most recognizable luxury bag brand among all income levels so when someone that doesn’t live in an area that’s surrounded with high end shops wants to splurge on a nice bag, they first think of LV. When I think back to living in the Midwest, I can only really remember seeing LV and Neverfull in particular if someone was carrying a luxury brand. Maybe a little Gucci as well.

I love my Neverfull. At the price it was when I purchased it (2008), it was hard to say no. I recently had the outside vachetta replaced. I do find I use smaller bags now, but when I need a tote to carry a lot of things, I am glad I still own this one.
Wow. She is stunning….. nothing like those old ones! The canvas was so much thicker and better, I would never get rid of her if I were you! I had a 2012 mono GM I sold in 2016 for same price I bought her and got a new DE Mm… then got a DM GM then recently got a MM mono….obviously this is my fav tote out of all designers BUT nothing is like the 2012 canvas…… so regret selling. So treasure yours! Getting the vachetta replaced is so worth the investment!!! Good for you
