Ever purged your collection in pursuit of one bag? How did it go?

Hi! I too am a little selling weary at the moment, and unfortunately I made some adds...but at least the adds are bags I know I will like and keep for the long haul...all of them Bals. I took care of my light messenger style need and my City bag need.

BC, on the Sahara City, make sure before you take the Bal plunge that you are okay with your handles warming/getting darker with use. I think you said you want this bag to go a long way, and bbags, especially the lighter ones, tend to look worn in very quickly. It is why as part of the purging process I describe here I sold my Jaune Twiggy because I was not using it often in fear that it would look worn very quickly. I know now that I love Bal, but I will only buy darker colors so I won't worry about the worn in look. Perhaps you are less finicky than me and will love a worn in bbag!

I am with everyone that GGH seems to look like peanut butter cups! I can't get myself to buy anything giant hardware...it is either regular or covered for me.

I think I may have a meeting with my bags before I go to sleep tonight and really commit to some more going out or going to go live with my mom.

I actually am reconsidering the Sahara City now! It is beautiful and all, but it's just not "clicking" for me... I might change my mind if it comes to a black Bal city in chevre, which is sort of glossier and smoother. But for now, I think I'm just content buying, using for a few seasons for a year, selling and buying new ones, lol. There isn't ONE it-bag that I need to have....

LOL Lo, yeah that's a LOT of red leather. But Sanguine is such a subtle red that it works very well for the Courier. I don't think Sanguine would satisfy my red cravings if it was my only red bag, I need true red in my life, but it's not my only red, so it works well for me for those more subtle red days.

I agree - Sanguine is the perfect red for a Courier...I know though that I need a brighter red along with it in my collection, though. :p

So ideally I would have something Sanguine, and something in a color like Sang or Ruby or Tomato (I used to have a Ruby and a Tomato bag, but my Ruby bag turned out to be very problematic so I sold it - and the Tomato was just too small since it was a Shoulder).

I am just patiently waiting until the right bag pops up...that's the trouble with (or perhaps the fun of?) having a particular bag in mind, you have to stalk it - esp. if it's something like a Bbag.

Sounds like a plan! ITA with mayajuliana that perhaps Sahara is not the way to go - though I have to confess I think it's gorgeous.

Sahara is a lovely color, but too light for a bbag..... the handles would warm too quickly. Are you considering any other color other than black BDC?

I am totally loving pourpre right now... i don't know what style i'd consider, but i'd be dreaming anyway... not more bags for a long while!

i need advice! i don't need any more bags until i can get rid of some, but there's a bag on the bonz that i've been wanting since it came out, and it's listed for a steal! should i go for it, or just stand my ground? gah! it's listed for $85 or bo with shipping.....

oh no! I'm going to be bad and say go for it! Sorry, just no help at all. If it was just a bag that you like and they come up sometimes I'd say wait, but if it's a great deal and it's something you've wanted for a long time, I'd have to go for it unless it put me in debt.

Oy, I would not be able to resist that! Maybe because you've been wanting it for a while.... or maybe it's the sales goggles talking.... Maybe you could buy it and resell if it doesn't work out... I'm no help, sorry. What's your bag plan, not sure if I've read it?

thanks all! I am going to go for it.... I'll let you know how it works out. I'm not going to be specific until I know for sure it's mine.... there's a couple small scratches on the back of it, but nothing that is terribly noticeable. I recently sold a MAC not too long ago that was the same color(hot pink), but this seems a better style for me.

i just wish some of my stuff on the bonz would move so i wouldn't feel so guilty! i do have a huge tax return coming my way, so i'm not too worried about funding, it's just that i'm not downsizing my collection the way i want by adding this one.

and Lo, I finally got the chain betty from australia... it was the same listing that you pm'd me. i won it and then had a couple issues with the seller(the seller wanted more for shipping than what was listed) but it worked out. The bag itself looks fab, but a bit travel wrinkled cuz the seller shoved it in a paper mailer and sent it air mail. I'm trying to decide what to leave for feedback.... anyhoo, i will take pics and post them when i get a chance!

A MAC is a Rebecca Minkoff Morning after Clutch... I love em.... they come with a long chain that is detachable, and MACs come in a mulitude of colors.

What CK are you referring to?

nvm, just found it!

thithi, it sounds like you're going for the $85 bag! It's low risk so I think you will feel less guilty if it's not right for you and goes on the chopping block. It's those pesky $1000+ bags that are the guilt tuggers...good luck and reveal when it's yours, please!
