So sorry to hear about your SO's father Lo!
Compared with the pleasure a bag can bring, there is almost always something else in life that is more important. You have my support.:hugs:

I wish that you all knew how much your kind thoughts, prayers, and wishes of support (and smiley hugs!!) mean to me. I truly appreciate every last one of you!!! It has been a pretty hellish several days here - I am not the crying type at all (not that there's anything wrong with crying!!), but I have been crying so much lately that I actually scratched my cornea from rubbing my eyes. :push:

My own father had cancer a few years ago but for some reason this is freaking me out more - I guess it's because my SO's father is overseas, he's much older, and it's a far more advanced case.

But today we got some great news - it looks like my SO's father may be able to have some great quality of life after extensive surgery. It is not 100% certain yet - but it is some hope. :smile1: :yahoo: :smile1:

Quality of life is everything. How we define it varies, but it is priceless regardless.

And on another happy note: My Bayswater sold in record time, and a very nice price!! I am thrilled because the sweet woman who bought it is so excited, and really into red (like me, lol). The fact that she is so obviously happy about the bag makes selling it so much easier. I don't really miss it, in fact.

I've been MIA for a few with this thread and noticed a lot has been going on.

LO--sorry about your SO's father. As much as we obsess over bags and shoes, family and people we love are more important. They are what really matters in the end! Your decision to use funds from Bay to help out is admirable and truly kind hearted. Here is a virtual :hugs: for you and your family.

I have been going simply bonkers. I want, want, want and I know it is directly attributed to my emotions. I listed about 7 items last week and the only thing that sold on evilbay was a pair of boots. My handbags are moving pretty slow on there so I may try to sell purge through Bonanzle. I went to SAKS and returned a few pairs of shoes and boots... had 2nd thoughts on a pr of YSL and CD booties and brought them back home with me. Knowing me and my indecisive self, I will probably pack them up and return them anyways. Selling has been tougher than ever... but I am trying!! I have been using my Perfo LV Speedy and although it's a handheld, it's lightness is what draws me. Heavy bags hurt after 1 hour of carrying... but they look sooooo cool.. ok, I'm digressing.
Still in pursuit of my phenomenal (sp?) 5/6. There are a few items I'd like to own 1 day (in my siggy) and there are quite a few in my closet I no longer want to own...LOL, which I am going to relist. So that's where I'm at ladies.

pquiles, I think it's incredibly admirable how honest and self-aware you are about your own struggles. I can totally relate, as I imagine many of us can - and being honest with yourself about your handbag habits is a major step. I know that you are moving in a really positive direction!!! Hang in there!!!

And don't get down on yourself for buying, then returning - because next time you will more likely not even get to the "buying" part. It's all about baby steps. :D

Glad to hear the good news Lo!! Hopefully after the surgery they'll do some chemo to help clean up any residue malignant tissue.... I'm hoping the best for him!

Congrats on selling the bag so quickly to a wonderful buyer. It's getting harder these days to find good buyers. I had a complainer and a NPB this week already.

^^^ ugh, I hate that! what's up with some buyers, why buy if you aren't going to buy???

Lo, glad to hear you got some good news and glad you sold your bag to someone who will appreciate her. hang in there! hugs!

Lo,

I'm glad to hear that there is some good news ahead for your SO's father; I know this has been a very intense time for you. So glad to hear that the Bayswater sold quickly and at a good price. I'm sure another one will come your way again.:smile1:

Thanks, everyone!!! You are all incredibly kind people.

And thithi, I am sorry about your evilbay troubles - I have done well over 275 transactions (mostly sales) between Bonanzle, ecrater, and ick-bay and so far I have not had a single NPB or complete nutcase. (A miracle, I know). A few people have taken their own sweet time paying me or have been a tad "interesting" shall we say, but they have been responsive after I "nudge" them a bit, lol.

I really hope that it all gets revolved for you with minimal drama!!! :smile1:

The Bal day I had listed was the NPB.... she sent me an email 3 days after the end of the auction that said her CC was hacked. I responded within 10 minutes and said that's fine, just let me know if it will be resolved soon, then no response from her. A week later I filed NPB and then she agreed to end the case within 12 hours. Finally, today, a week and a half later, she emails me back to say that it will take a month to resolve the hacked CC. Uh, okay. Whatever!!

The other buyer was an international buyer that bid without contacting me first(on a US only listing)... then after winning, she wants me to declare the bag for less on the customs form. Um, no. And finally, after she gets it, she complains that the tags aren't attached even though it's listed nwt(it's mentioned in the listing that the tag is not attached). She also states there are scratches on the handle.... of course, the bag is delicate lambskin so I can't deny it if there are, I have no pics of that area. I refund her $25. Ugh.... she was soooooo annoying throughout the entire transaction. I want to leave fb but I'm afraid I'll get a neg from her!

Anyhoo.... I'm glad you had good experiences with your transactions... I always try to list every minuscule detail so there can't be any complaints after the bags are received, but sometimes something gets missed. I myself am usually forgiving unless there's a huge flaw. Buyers who nit pick drive me nuts... that girl got a $1350 nwt bag for less than 70%! In retrospect, I should have just asked for a return.

Ooh, don't get me started on feebay.

The sad thing is, there's no guarantee you'd have gotten your bag back. I sold an Hermes scarf to a woman, she *****ed up and down about the condition. I was all :confused1: but said OK, send it back -- because I knew I could sell it again.

The scarf she sent back wasn't the one I'd sent her! The one I got in return had dye bleeds all over it. :crybaby: Of course PayFoe sided with the buyer, as it usually does, and I was left with a scarf that's little more than a rag.

To add insult to injury, she left me a Neg!

^ wow, that sounds like a horror story!! As a buyer, I like the new buyer protection plan, but what about the sellers? We have no one to back us up anymore, not to mention we're getting charged outrageously high fees. I've been listing more on bonanzle, but it's so slow... maybe it's the season though. I'm hoping sales will pick up!

I think I'm going to try Bonanzle next. Although it's slower, I think it's attracting a better group of buyers. Maybe I just haven't been burned there yet! :p At least with Bonanzle I won't be ripped off with high fees on top of having no protection.
