Wow! Me on the otherhand, never has enough china... I hate spending money on that sort of stuff.

Good job with the pics! Taking pics is always the hardest part for me... the lighting, the positioning, etc is so tedious. Once you've done that, the listing is so much easier! Did you list them yet?? Do it, do it!!

And Lo, I saw the pic of a bayswater.... very classy!! I think you made a great choice. Can't wait to see the pics... I want to see this deep gorgeous red.

I did list 4 and I need to list one other tomorrow. It's hard cause when I take them out of the dust cover, I think wow that's really cute, I should keep this. Then it goes back in the dust bag and back in the closet and then I forget about it again until the next time I think I should sell something. You want some of my china!!! lol! All of our china came from moms, his and mine. I'd never sell mine but he's got a set from a previous marriage that really has to go!!!!!! kwim!

So I take it there's no time limit on Bonanzle?

I like Bonanzle, less hassle. less fees. However it can take longer. I once had a bag on there for about 8 months. I'd forgotten about it and one day, it sold! good thing I still had it. I don't need space so i don't mind waiting. If I want to get rid of something faster then ebay is probably best. you can try both. I've seen some sellers post bags on both at the same time. I'd get confused doing that!

Hey Loquita,

Now I can't wait to see your bayswater! Always loved that style.
Wonder which shade of red it'll be. There are so many variations.

And yes, ysl is so great too. Love their bags.

Btw, Loquita, you are so sweet! Thanks for what you said! Although after I asked your opinions I realized (in my little "newbie" state) that maybe that is thread-hijacking..???
oooops, sorry.

However, what you said is so right- limits can also be oppressive.

Did some reflecting....(this purse thing is eye-opening) and saw where bad feelings over buying nice purses may have originated from...

Both parents, in their own way, always put people down for their nice purchases...like the neighbors new Mercedes, or my mom's friends D & B bags, etc. etc. (They put them down in private, to us). Acted like they were better than everybody else if they didn't spend any $ on stuff.
Secondly, even as a little girl I loved accessorizing!! Like 7 years old, lol. My mom would yell at me and say, "What, you think you're a fashion plate?"

My answer was, what's a fashion plate? lol

Anyway, I can see where it comes from, now to let it go.

Purses, full speed ahead!:yahoo:

I have tried ebay, but as I said the darn fees eat up a lot of my profit. I just made a Bonanzle account after hearing all the good things about it from Pf ladies, and will be listing some stuff shortly! :yahoo:

well, make sure you really want to sell it. I put a bag up this a.m. and it already sold. I wasn't sure I wanted to let it go, but I figured it would be on there for awhile. I was wrong! lol, so one less to obsess about. Hopefully she is going to a good home. I almost feel like some of them are my children. I'm one of those that do need quite a few to keep me happy, maybe just not quite so many, kwim?

My policy is, if I have it, I have to use it. I don't see any point in it sitting around in my closet, it's not a museum. It's meant to be used. I do an inventory check every year or so, and if it has not been used since the last time I did "inventory", chances are it won't get used at all. No matter how pretty it is and all... Plus I need the cash :D

Congratulations on the sale! :yahoo:

I think the last time I had less than 10 purses - I was 3 years old. That was when my mother had the brilliant idea: "teach the kid personal responsibility by making her manage her own crap."

I don't want to reduce down to a small collection - while I applaud those who can easily carry 3-4 bags, they aren't me.
I just want to reduce to a mind-full collection. I want bags I love and carry every day - not just ones that seemed like a good idea at the time.

I just read the entire thread (LOL!) and I'm so with you ladies. I'm in process of this right now. My spending was out of control in 2009, so selling will pay off some CC debt, as well as hopefully finance two bags: Chanel Black Maxi (Caviar) and LV Ebene Damier Neverfull.

At my "worst" I had over 20 bags. I now only have:

A LAMB speedy-type trendy bag (will likely sell it when I'm "over" it - it's leopard print, so it's only a matter of time)
An Ivory/bone Chanel LAX Small Tote in caviar
A Gucci Tattoo speedy-type bag (white)
A Speedy 30 Epi Cassis
A Black GST (Debating selling this one - as it's versatile, but doesn't make my heart flutter anymore, you know? I think a Neverfull would suffice and be more understated for work, and the Black Maxi would fulfill the black need - this sale would help finance the Maxi)
A Red Chanel Jumbo Flap

I sold all other bags - two LVs, Coaches, Dooneys, etc. I also have been unloading some Chanel jewelry as I just hoarded too much of it.

It's very liberating. LOL!

Anyway, GOOD JOB girls! I'm with you! And selling is oddly enough, sort of addicting!!

I'm thinking about selling off some of mine.. (coach, dooney.. those kinds) for a higher brand bag, Idk, we will see.

And quiet honestly, I bet the one your looking at is better quality too.. so it's a win-win situation. Maybe you can find the bag on ebay so you will have to sell off less bags. Just an option..

But if it's something you love.. sell!!!!

I purge my collections all the time.. I'm a bargain shopper and have been very lucky to use them for a year or 2 and sell them for what i paid for them.. sometimes even a little more.. Of course I do have my "Babies";) that I would never sell!
