Not sure it helps, but the strap on my EW European version Hamilton is not as wide as on my NS Hamilton. It's a bit wider than the Selma strap though.

Thanks Norwegian Girl. I'm trying to determine if the strap on the large Hamilton satchel is the same width as the strap on the n/s Hamilton tote. That would be my ideal scenario because I love how comfortable the straps are on my n/s Hamilton totes.
If it's similar in width to your e/w European Hamilton (wider than the Selma strap but narrower than the n/s Hamilton tote strap) then I'll need to try to find one in store to take a look. However, I haven't seen the newer large Hamilton satchel in store yet.
I think if there is some demand that he'll come out with more colors. The problem is no one seems to know the true specs on this new large Hamilton tote, and they don't seem to be available to look at in stores.

You're right. The specs are confusing on his website. It's hard to make decisions when you can't get correct dimensions/specs or see them IRL.
I'd say they're about the same. I have pictures but I am very new to this ... Im not sure how to post pictures
Okay, the description for the new large Hamilton satchel does not mention a compartment divider nor does it mention a detachable, adjustable shoulder strap. Also, the pictures don't show a compartment divider nor a detachable, adjustable shoulder strap. It looks like it could be the same shoulder strap as on the n/s Hamilton tote. So I think I'm going to have to start making some calls this week to find out the correct specs on the new large Hamilton satchel. I'm crossing my fingers.

No... I'm still debating whether I should settle now or wait for a Navy blue. although I have been waiting for what seems like forever, I really love the satchels measurements and the whole look of the bag. The measurements are perfect for me. Just wish there were more options....
I don't like any of the currently available colors, so I'm going to wait. But I did contact MK and they confirmed there is no section divider in the bag and the shoulder strap is not detachable, just like the pictures on the MK website. They couldn't give me any details on the shoulder strap, but did say that it is shorter than the strap on the n/s Hamilton tote. I'm not sure about that, so will need to see the bag in person.Oh. And yes, the pictures are from in store

+1 I agree. I'm not sure about a shorter shoulder strap either. I like the concept of the bag but it's definitely something I'm going to need to see IRL. I wish the shoulder strap was detachable.
The shoulder strap drop on the n/s Hamilton tote is 12 inches and it's approximately 11 inches on the e/w Hamilton satchel. I can't imagine the strap on the large Hamilton satchel being much different than that. I don't mind that it isn't detachable, but I would like it to be the same width as the straps on the other Hamiltons.
Okay. So I popped into my local MK store today to take a look at the newer large Hamilton satchel and can you believe all the prior information relayed to me by the online MK rep was wrong?!
The large Hamilton satchel is the European version that Norwegian Girl owns. It has the section divider, is roughly the same size as my large Selma, and the shoulder strap is removable and adjustable, but narrower than the strap on my n/s Hamilton tote.It was gorgeous, but I don't like any of the currently available colors. I could live with the zippered section divider because one side of the bag has more room than the other and could still accommodate my purse organizer. It's just that shoulder strap can't be comfortable. It's longer than normal, but still narrow.
I'm going to keep my eye on this bag to see if they come out with any other colors. I'd love to see it in navy.
