Here are mineThe first set is real diamonds, lol. I will explain in a minute. 1 ct 3 stone with princess cut stones down the sides. 5/8ct enhancer band with princess cuts.

2nd Pic (OK here it comes) is a 2ct CZ stone in white gold. I am having issues buying diamonds not because of price but because of political reasons. One pic is with a plain gold band and the other is with my princess cut diamond enhancer band.

They are all my favorites so I guess I will switch off wearing them.

_both very pretty:smile1: CZ is perfectly lovely. I myself have in addition to my diamond e-ring, 2 Moissanite e-rings and one CZ which are much more blingy - couldn't justify spending what the real thing would cost. I switch off among them too

BlackJade: Thanks! I know it's not as big as many of the others, but I love it

PrincessMe: Love your set and your nails look gorgeous too!

Mickiechickie: If you did want diamonds, but the politics bother you, would you be comfortable with estate pieces?

here are some pics of my e ring and band

lovely!!!

here is a crappy pic I took with my phone...my husband designed it and had it made...the second band is my 10yr wedding anniversary present...
How lovely to have something your husband created. It is very pretty, too. and I love your ten year anniv. band.

BlackJade: Thanks! I know it's not as big as many of the others, but I love it

As you should. It's very pretty; I wasn't thinking about the size when I admired it, something pretty is pretty whether large or small. This suits your hand, IMO.

Did you start having the issues after you got the first set? I guess I'm confused as to why you still wear diamonds at all if you object to them for political reasons.
My friends that object don't wear any, and in fact mostly won't wear CZ as they say it contributes to the 'problem' since people think the CZ is diamonds.
Not trying to pick at you, just curious.
Before I got my earrings, I got concerned because one of those friends (who don't wear diamonds for political reasons) told me that diamonds came from countries where they exploited people and cut off little children's hands. I got very upset as I would never want to support such things. I looked it all up and felt comfortable after I did with the Kimberley accords and bought a new pair of diamonds for my earrings through a company that is socially responsible.
Afterwards, I learned that many African economies run legitimately on diamonds and that if people boycott them, then the populations suffers because that is their export. But then, I learned that there can be trouble enforcing the Kimberley accords and that people lie. so it seems like a complex issue. I can understand that you can come to different conclusions after researching (I wouldn't count watching the movie Blood diamond as research, because its a movie) and think that responsible people can be on either side. Where I am now, I buy estate diamonds (pawn shop) but honestly this also because of prices.
So that's where I come from and I don't want to thread jack but I was just honestly wondering about the reasons behind your particular choices. I am being nosy of course and you don't have to justify.

I just got engaged three weeks ago. My fiance used his grandmother's ring so it's about 60 years old. When I saw it, I was surprised to see how modern it looks! And surprised she chose white gold instead of yellow gold. I especially like the details under the stones! I love it!!!

^^^Beautiful. Classic.

White gold/platinum was very stylish 60 years ago. If you're in your 20's or early 30's and getting married, your (or your fiance's) mother's original e-ring (yellow gold, high set solitaire) is going to look dated but your grandmother's (white gold, likely filigree) is going look like what's in right in now.
Your daughters will probably like your mother's ring when their time comes.

Bonus: Sixty year old white gold was made differently (better) than it usually is now and will not go yellow on you and need rhodium plating.
