Love love love your YG ring with YG love bracelet!!! It made me sooo jealous! I was looking at watches and the bracelet last week and I hated the look of it next to my WG engagement ring. I love the RG and YG love bracelets but it clashed! But the metal tones in your set is fantastic. Wish I could borrow your left arm for a day haha (that sounds so odd)

OK, this totally made my day, you are SO SWEET! :smooch: Seeing you halo, as well as Contessa's and Kohl's does give me the occasional twinge of "hmmm... It has been 10 years, how would my stone look haloed?" You really don't see YG halos though. As Contessa knows, I really want an eternity band, but it probably won't happen until my 10th anniversary next year.

I think you need a WG Love bracelet. I saw a woman with one the other day, it looked great. :woohoo:

Hehe, maybe it's just my mom and whoops' mom. My DF's mom's ring upgraded to a diamond solitaire on a pave setting a few years ago and I don't know what his aunts and my aunts have, but I don't remember a lot of baguettes either. My mom actually doesn't wear her e-ring (in fact she didn't even have an e-ring in the beginning, the baguette ring was bought later). She keeps it in a safe. She doesn't even wear her wedding band, nor does my dad! Since I got my ring, my mom has shown some interest in jewelry and my dad has insisted that he buy her an upgrade, but she refuses. She's just not that into jewelry!

Both of my parents have never worn a wedding band. Ever. It's weird but I guess that's what suites them. My mom only wears her engagement ring. Her hands are so small I doubt it even has room for a wedding band because the engagement ring took up so much space!

Same here, my parents never wear their e-ring or wedding band, do you think this has something to do with Asian culture?

Speaking of ERs getting dated, I wonder how people feel or will feel about their wedding dresses!!! My wedding was in 2002, and I still like mine, but weddings from just a few years earlier make me cringe!

I adore the combination you have! And a yellow gold eternity sounds just as nice to add to the stack for an anniversary. You have 10 years coming up afterall!

WG love is probably not going to happen. I heard it can yellow like my trinity WG is already less white then my engagement ring though both are palladium WG. :( I want the rose gold one but we shall see. I was so sad to see them on and not like it. Also I think maybe if I had a solitaire it wouldn't have looked so busy? Or maybe I need the alternating screw and diamond design...

I have fears of my dress being dated.... And I havent even gotten married! It's a tight ivory mermaid dress with an asymmetrical ruffle hem. It also has a single strap (most likely I'll alter to a strapless or sweetheart neck) but boy ph boy I hope I don't look back and think I was crazy to wear it. I tried traditional styles too though and just didn't fit as well.

My dress looks NOTHING like anything I'd normally have chosen. It's foofy and girly. What I wanted wasn't made at the time, and what's obnoxious is that within a year of me asking for it, they started popping up. My mom was laughing when we were looking for my sister's dress that I should've gotten married again last year so i could've had what I wanted.

I think you chose very well! The only engagement rings I would consider from Tiffanys is the yellow diamonds. The colorless styles don't wow me as much. It's such a hard fight balancing the 4 Cs. I find that Asian cultures only like to shop in the high color and clarity range. Most of my relatives went D-F Vvs and would sacrifice size over and over again to get it. They are very traditional and were really against my halo saying it killed my centerstone. I also asked if we should have gone with a G and then increased size and they gave me that "ni fung-la" (you crazy) look. They have such high expectations...

I'm even wondering if the whole large huge diamond is a trend.... Maybe not in the US anytime in this century though haha

LOL, I don't know, I thought I wanted a white white diamond, but I ended up getting a yellow one. I think for me, the DEF stones are a little too "icy" and cold for me because I like a little bit of color. Especially when I laid my eyes on the low colored diamonds thread and erica's designs. . .my mind was blown. I would consider getting a K diamond in the future. . .or M for me! hahaha

Your ring is gorgeous!!! My friend who is a big yg and rg lover said diamonds only look good in white metals, and I agreed . . . until I saw yours. Believe me, you don't want to mess with a good thing, and yours is beautiful enough already!! You even got me wanting something yg. . . I tried on a plain yg band on at the store the other day and it didn't look bad at all!

I definitely see the warmer anitique stones to be a trend to me. Maybe even the antique cushions in warm colors? But maybe just me.

I'd like them for a right hand ring but not engagement ring. I'm traditional that I want it icey and crisp. I would have been happy with the same size in a G but it wasn't available.

I don't think halo will be outdated anytime soon, but it could happen in 20 years. I think at that point, you both have gorgeous stones, and could reset it, if you even wanted to!

I know I've said this before, but I got my YG ER when YG was super out of style, so it's just nice to see it in style now. Ultimately though, I know it's the best thing for ME, so I think being true to your own style is the most important thing.

I agree with that last part. You have to be true to yourself! My ring was recently deemed "overworked and beyond repair" by my jeweler. He offered a total replacement. I kinda had free range within limits to go any which route I wanted. Now I should add that before all this I would have given anything to change my set, I felt my channel sets where so boring and dated. But as I spent HOURS looking and looking, I really never made it very far away from what I already have. In the end the jeweler is ordering three channel set bands...lol. They only differ from my originals in that they are half round on the bottom and slightly thinner channels than my originals.

And I REEEEALY hate to admit this, but I was married before to a guy I just met in Las Vegas (yes...seriously) and that ring was a YG channel set wedding set. And um, yeah, I was engaged once after that to another guy...also had channel set diamonds...lol. Apparently it's just who I am, or what I'm meant to have. :shrugs:

Anyway, I love Halos but I'm sure they will be outdated at some point. But I'm also more than sure we will still love them like our mothers love their own rings.

THIS!!!!^^^^

Couldn't agree more. I got married in 2002 and mine is still pretty in style. But ones from a few years before are just, well, not me..lol. While I still LOVE my dress I can't really wear it currently. Back then I had "aftermarket" boobie IN the dress. Now I have a set in my chest, so when I put on my dress now, I'm like a GGG (is that a size? lol).

Hmmmm, if you don't like the mix of colors, how would you feel about putting the RG bracelet on your right hand? It's a shame that Cartier's RG and WG have fading issues.

Also, on the dress, it doesn't matter as much if it does end up dated, you don't wear the dress for the rest of your life, you know?

Thanks so much Kohl!!! :smooch: Have you gone dress shopping yet?

I don't know much about e-ring trends. I always thought the icy white diamond was a current new millennium favorite because most antique diamonds I've seen have some color to them. But what do I know? I've only been alive for 20 something years and have no knowledge about rings except for what is in now. Everything is up to personal preference. Some people buy it just for looks, some buy it for investment purposes (though I heard diamonds are not particularly good in this category; metals like gold are more valuable), and some buy it because everyone else is buying it! I guess what I'm trying to say is that trends are very subjective and things that go out of fashion come back in so trending is very cyclical. It's hard to say what is or isn't "in" sometimes.
