Elsa Peretti cabochon ring?

Also, for reference, the piece was inspired by an early 1970's ring designed by Peretti. Here is an example of the inspiration in yellow gold and red coral (photos courtesy of Lang Antiques). As you can see the ring's setting is a bit different, and the cabochon stone is set at a much more dramatic angle.

Peretti also released a similar rings in the 90's and early 2000's. These rings featured white or black keshi pearls set in yellow gold or platinum (see last photo)

Thank you for the great insight. I've been waiting for the turquoise to come back. Do you have any insight on the turquoise? Thanks.

I was really interested in the piece in turquoise as well - I am not sure why they retired it. My SA informed they only just recently got rid of their last stock (world wide that is) of the turquoise, and the last turquoise pieces to go were in silver. The silver and turquoise was actually very expensive too - more than the gold and rock crystal model (2k+). Lapis has long been gone my SA said.

I prefer this size to the big one. Looks nicely put together. Elegant. My fav is in rock crystal. Love the mirror look.

Me too. It was a tough decision to decide between rock crystal and jade. I guess I ultimately chose the jade because the ring really highlighted the stone, and with the rock crystal, what was really highlighted was the silver finish inside the ring that gave off the mirror illusion. Even on the gold and rock crystal model they use a silver finish instead of a gold one, which in person, because the stone is so large, made the ring not look much different than the rock crystal and silver model.

Green jade + yellow gold is a striking combination and looks gorgeous on you. I agree the all silver rock crystal looks better than the gold + rock crystal.

This is my mom's moonstone rainbow cabochon ring (more than 30 yrs old)20170818_151343.jpg which is not Elsa Peretti but I love it nevertheless and has been the enabler of me falling in love with the collection and deciding to get the rock crystal or if I can find second hand lapis and gold.
Pity can't get a nice shot of the beautiful rainbow.

Beautiful! I am such a cabochon cut fan. Moonstone is particularly a wonderful stone to be cut in the cabochon fashion. You are lucky to have such a ring.

I waited a year or two to see if I could find the Lapis and Gold cabochon ring before ultimately buying the Jade and gold and had no luck! I did come across a few turquoise and gold examples, but one was grossly over priced, and in the other, the stone had oxidized in parts, which I didn't like.

By the way, there is a gold turquoise on eBay. I want the silver though. The turquoise looks gorgeous. I saw one at the Fifth Avenue store about 4 years ago and the turquoise was very dark, not robin's egg blue. This one on eBay looks quite good.

Unbelievable but I found a turquoise! My SA searched and called all the stores and there are two left so I purchased one.
