Elsa Peretti cabochon ring?

No, I saw the exact same ring 2 years ago on Tiffany's web site, but it seemed too expensive and I decided not to buy it.

After that, it's image was still on my mind and I was looking the entire web for it like a maniac, and could not find anything, nor anything similar to it.

A while ago I saw it again on the web site, but saying that is not available, and I contacted Tiffany's and this is how I found out that I can backorder it, and I had the ring few months later.

I have small hands, the ring is a 6, as they do not make half sizes.

It appears that Elsa Peretti has come out with "cabochon by the yard" - it's DBTY style cabochon gemstone circles in bezel settings. Earrings and necklaces are part of the collection. To be honest I really like the idea.

I finally got to try this on and the rock crystal and sterling ring is really stunning; I liked it much better than the gold one.

My understanding, FYI, is that there is going to be a Canadian Tiffany price increase, possibly as early as tomorrow (Aug. 8)...

The SA didn't know. She thought maybe 10% but said the SAs aren't told before. I heard the same thing last week from an SA at a different store. This may be Canada only.

Since the thread was originally posted, there have been some changes to the Cabochon ring line. Now there are two sizes - a new smaller size (called "mini") and the original, larger size. Lapis and Turquoise are no longer available in either gold or sterling. More stones are now available in silver, including blue chalcedony, citrine, amethyst, blue topaz, and rock crystal. Green jade and black jade are still available. Only rock crystal and green jade are available in yellow gold.
