I discussed this with an SA in person, that is what she told me.Do you know that to be true? My Nordstrom SA offered me a lot of popular items this season. They just all get reserved and don’t make it to the floor. They don’t always have the largest selection, but they got minis with top handle for example
Do not buy resale it should not be legal.Probably because resellers buy in bulk there. I know of one in particular who flys to Portland weekly to shop. And bring back to a state that taxes. I hope she gets caught and banned.
I am glad they are doing this. It sucks for real customers living in the states. But maybe chanel knows that more people are reselling from these states than actual customers. I know a few big resellers whose shipping comes from New Hampshire (myrena.fashionlover) ships from NH. She claims she has an assistant there. And another lady who resells a ton of Manila blahnik shoes and wipes out all jelwery inventory from Chanel Portalnd and has chanel ship to a mail forwarding place in Oregon (she flys from California weekly to pick up these parcels). This is just a few examples. It needs to be stopped.
Am sure Chanel will work something out for residents of these statesFour of the five states (AK, DE, NH, MT) have a combined population of ~4 million. That is not even 1.5% of the country. They must have noticed that the percent of Chanel orders shipped there are much higher than would be typical in other states of similar size.
I do feel for the legit residents who are not part of resale networks...
Well, they will be leased soon so they will have access to everything same as boutiques, Neiman etc.I discussed this with an SA in person, that is what she told me.
Ya the same SA expressed to me that they’d been hearing for months that they would eventually be leased. Could be a delay due to covid, but she last heard that they would be leased by end of February 2021 lol. I also recall hearing from a friend a couple years ago who worked at that Nordstrom (he’s no longer there) that Chanel would be leased. Hasn’t happened yet in all this time, so I’m not going to hold my breath...Well, they will be leased soon so they will have access to everything same as boutiques, Neiman etc.
I always assumed that they received their stock last because they were leased. Everything always takes forever to get to them lol
I truly hope so. I’m willing to provide any info they need if they would like to verify my home/shipping/mailing address, etc. But for now we are completely cut off... hope they find a solution soonAm sure Chanel will work something out for residents of these states
It’s crazy to me that they would leave Nordstrom out. I mean obviously there’s the Webster and a few other places but who knows. My SA said eventually but gave absolutely no date. I would obviously prefer if they stay non-leased. The only downside is availability.Ya the same SA expressed to me that they’d been hearing for months that they would eventually be leased. I feel like this should be illegal. If it is not than there is no reason she can't buy up everything. There is orchmelia/ orchmeliagarden which looks like she hangs out at a Chanel store. She just takes pics of the inventory of that Chanel store and posts it on IG. She buys the item using a gift card then ships the item to Oregon then forwarded to the recipient. It's kinda disgusting behavior really. No effort on her part but just hang out at Chanel and call her SA.
Another FB member from one of the Chanel groups relayed this to me after buying from her. She said it's just insane how these people can get away with things.
She's not in Oregon but she ships stuff to avoid paying taxes. A forwarding company then ships the bag to the buyer. Crazy I know.I feel like this should be illegal. If it is not than there is no reason she can't buy up everything.
So she is in Oregon? Then makes money because there is no tax? Isn't that illegal? Like tax evasion or something? She has to get 1099 so it doesn't make sense. Why does she use a gift card?
Also you have to realize
that you take the bag in for a year for repairs if needed with your name on it and 5 years for repairs so there is a benefit to buying it yourself.
