Strangest request ever on a pair of shoes :confused1::wondering:weird::

"Hey,

I was just wondering...this may sound a little odd...but if i was to purchase the shoes, would you be willing, after I have paid, to mess them up a little?

Maybe a little mud and dirt?

Would be willing to pay extra too"

anyone heard of something like this ever?

I just had someone ask if the shoes I was selling smelled. And that they wanted sweaty worn in shoes.

I was checking feedback on my latest buyer, and I noticed a seller left this feedback on her account: "please leave your feedback about the item and shipping I provided." Seriously? Why is he/she so desperate for feedback? I went on the ebay website to check if this guy did the same for other buyers, and yep, I was right.

What a nut. I need to make a mental note to never buy anything from this seller. Ridiculous.

Needs more than positive FB. Did you see the DSR's?

I purchased a Prada handbag via Ebay this past July. I have a few Prada handbags purchased from actual Prada stores, so I wrongly assumed I could just compare them when I received it and figure out if it was a fake or not. The bag I bought came with the receipt from Saks fifth Avenue and I naively assumed based on the receipt and the fact that the quality and details all matched up with my other bags that it was real. I just recently tried to sell it to a consignment shop only for them to tell me that it is actually fake. I'm really disappointed in myself for not realizing it sooner. I paid via Paypal. I've read online that I can only open a dispute in the first 45 days. Am I just SOL? Is there anything I can do or did I just learn a 1k lesson?

You certainly are SOL. It's been 9 months.

Unless you're expert, you need to verify authenticity when you receive the item.

That said, it's very possible that the bag is authentic and the consignment store may be wrong.

I don't know whether the AT Prada here does authentications for items that aren't active listings but if not, you can get a professional authentication for about $7.50-ish. That way, at least you'll know whether you goofed or whether the consignment store goofed.

And if genuine, you can take the authentication doc to them and try again to consign it.

In the future, use the timeframe you have after purchases to make sure you got what you thought you did.

eBay ruled in my favor. Buyer filed a case with PayPal. Can I win on eBay and lose on PayPal?

Thanks.

I did. Now all I can do is to wait.

PayPal's ruling is back. I won.

Now I'm bracing myself for credit card chargeback.
If she files a chargeback, just stay on PP until they close the case. (They try to give a hard time so remind them that both ebay and they closed the cases in your favor.)

And please, PLEASE post this lovely buyer's ID for blocking purposes!

If he files a chargeback, should I just contact PP? I have never handled a chargeback so I'm not quite sure how I should proceed.

Will definitely post his ID.

P.S. It sure does feel good to win on both eBay and Paypal [emoji3]

If he files a chargeback, you'll hear from Paypal about it. You didn't take the credit card yourself, Paypal did. So they will know about it before you will.

Ok...I just had a very STRANGE experience! I contacted a seller about a Coach handbag they had listed - just asking about shipping, perfume or smoke in the house etc. She answered everything yesterday except not directly on me asking about shipping UPS instead of USPS. This morning she sent a message and said sorry no UPS. Fine. I would have paid extra. Then within an hour (and I did not respond to her "no to UPS" message at all - I get this from her

"sorry I do have a perfume about MY HOUSE- the perfume of GODs righteousness that as a child of the most high has bestowed on me.

Don't contact me again"

She addressed it to two names neither of which were mine and I never told her mine. She ended all auctions that were listed yesterday, relisted and changed here seller ID name. I was thinking....hmmm...maybe someone hacked her account or she went off the deep end. I wanted to make an offer so to test waters I sent one more message telling her I wanted to make an offer and asking if I paid today if she could ship tomorrow. Reply was simply "Hell No"

Very, very weird. I was polite the entire time so not sure what happened!

Whether it's a case of mistaken identity or not, I don't know.

But I suspect after answering all your questions about odors, perfume, smoke and whatever else you asked, the request to change shipping was the straw that broke the camel's back. Sellers offer a shipping service they feel comfortable with and UPS just isn't one she uses.

(And to tell the truth, I think I'd bail on - and block - a buyer who tried to get me to change my shipping method to a method I choose not to use.)

Usually there's a reason why sellers do what they do and if you don't like sellers to use USPS, find another seller who does us UPS.
