Thank you. Yes, dogs are the best. I actually started selling on eBay when Beau my dog before the one below was sick in 2014. It gave me something else to focus on. It helped a lot because it took so much time and energy. I sold over 300 items many high end in a 6 month period. So I had my share of crazy buyers. It just got more and more stressful with eBay doing so little to protect sellers. I hated feeling so helpless in protecting myself and my reputation that it wasn't worth the time and energy. I now send my things to consignment. I make a lot less but there's very little stress involved.
I'm sure that Ebay kept you busy through a rough time when Beau was sick. It does help to be busy during a rough time. You definitely established a good business very quickly! Impressive! I am starting to see how stressful it can be. I prefer when buyers communicate and can get a feel for them. I feel better about a sale if I have had a positive interaction. But you're right, the stress of protecting yourself and your reputation begins to make you question if it's worth it any longer. I've been on eBay for a long time, but I'm not a large business. I just select pieces that I am no longer using and are still nice enough to put up for sale. I've been looking into consigning, it is much less, but may be worth it. Once they take possesson, you're done. No complaints to be had. I think if more sellers that had a large business like you left, Ebay might be inclined to protect sellers a little more. Thank you again, I appreciate you sharing your experience.

Thank you again beenburned.

I did call Ebay again after I saw the SNAD was opened prior to receiving. They said they'd notate it on the claim # they opened on my behalf.

They mentioned again if I got the bag back I didn't have to refund original shipping and return shipping. I asked if they were sure, because policy doesn't state that. The rep said, " you absolutely don't have to refund her shipping for both ways."

To call back if the bag was damaged upon return, or if not shipped by Thursday. If she didn't ship, case closed and I'm only out the return ship cost.

They said again I should've called before accepting a return as it looked to them like buyers remorse which isn't covered by buyer protection. I did not trust that a CS rep could definitively decide a decision like that. I assumed it would have to be reviewed by the powers that be; not by two reps opinions based on reading the exchange between the buyer and me and reviewing the extra pics they has me post to the claim they opened.

With all that said, hopefully it will be resolved soon and move forward. It just made me feel like Ebay may be more trouble than it's worth. Which is unfortunate, as a lot of the buyers and sellers are good people.
Hello All,

Just wanted to give you an update on this issue. The buyer waited until the last day to ship the bag. I just got it today, and my mail carrier brought the package in. She was already dying as the buyer put one piece of tape closing the box. I had shipped with the handles, strap and exterior all wrapped separately in bubble wrap. The return box was completely opened due to her only securing the box with one small piece of tape. The bag itself, was taped to one piece of bubble wrap and the whole bag/box was full of leaves. I took pictures, but that seems to not matter to Ebay after discussing with them.

I called Ebay and they said they don't get involved in these things any longer. He said to call back if she leaves negative feedback; because it was buyers remorse, and I tried to communicate with her and she didn't respond.

He said I should've called before I sent the shipping label as then they might've done something prior. He said my pictures and description were very thorough and concise. I don't like the "might have" as that still leaves a seller exposed. When a buyer opens a bogus SNAD, it doesn't give one a lot of options. He agreed with that. Plus, this was the first case ever opened against me. Beenburned was correct about ebay CS giving differing opinions. I did have to refund the shipping unlike Ebay told me the second time I called. He also noted that she filed the SNAD prior to receiving the bag. He told me I had a lot of interest in the item and I should just re-list it!

As I said, I got my fees back. I really hope Ebay will remove any negative feedback she may potentially leave. Even my mail carrier couldn't figure out what was wrong with the bag itself. But was completely in shock as to how the bag was returned, and that Ebay was really of no assistance.

Thank you all for your advice. It was really appreciated.

Yesterday I took new pictures of an item I had listed for awhile. I thought new pictures might help it sell. It was on multiple sites and I updated my listings, but I forgot one site. Today I sold it on the site without the updated pictures!

I never get these promotional bucks offers. I must buy too much, so I'm not worth marketing to.
I'm sorry. I've been getting them a lot lately since I've been on my ban. See, there is a benefit to not buying! I got one last week that was 16 times ebay bucks. I bought something for less than $20 and got $3 back.

ebay is constantly sending selling offers to my buying account, but not to my selling account. Last week they gave me 2000 free listings. I don't think I own that many things! They never give my selling account free listings.

I've used the same account for everything for the last 13 years, but I definitely buy much more than I sell. My mother is a fairly big volume seller, but she doesn't buy as often, and she usually gets the buying offers, when I get the selling offers.

Ugh I get so frustrated when a seller doesn't respond to Ebay messages but has an item up for $1000. There is no way I'm purchasing from you if you don't answer my questions!! It is something I'm really interested in, too, making it more frustrating.

Strangest request ever on a pair of shoes :confused1::wondering:weird::

"Hey,

I was just wondering...this may sound a little odd...but if i was to purchase the shoes, would you be willing, after I have paid, to mess them up a little?

Maybe a little mud and dirt?

Would be willing to pay extra too"

anyone heard of something like this ever?

It sounds like a SNAD claim.

You list and sell items as in pictures, send messed up and dirty shoes and buyer files a claim against you claiming you sent shoes not as shown in pictures.

BLock and post ID for blocking purposes!

This is the strangest request ever, then again, there are people with footy fetishes lol

In my years on ebay i've never had this sort of request so i sent this reponse:
Very odd request definately
Any reason why you can't do that yourself when you receive the item ?
Regards

and this was the response i just got:

"Hey,
Just to fill you in....
I am interested in seeing shoes in places that they are not designed, i find this artistic,
Part of the art is the original wearer performs the messing, this adds a more natural element to the art,
Please be aware I have emailed you to ask for this and as such now have evidence to prove this,
I am also happy to put a no refunds/returns poilcy in place to protect yourself,
In terms of a price, what are you looking for?
Also what would you be able to do to the shoes?
Thank you"

:wtf: definately one to stay clear of :shrugs:
