I won an auction for a pair of CLs in eB last Sunday, November 6 and paid same night via PP. eB's estimated delivery was 3-4 business days. Seller stated she ships USPS within 24-48 hours after receiving payment. I was expecting the package to arrive by Thursday, November 11, which would be the 4th business day. Tracking number was available Tuesday evening (I got notification that my item was being shipped). I assumed since it was only an electronic shipping label, that the item was not dropped off in PO or picked up by postman until Wednesday, November 9. Again, I was expecting the package by Thursday (4th business day) since package was being shipped Priority Mail and within the same state (CA). But it didn't arrive.

I didn't get an updated USPS Track & Confirm until Friday, November 11 stating that the package was already in my city's post office on Thursday, November 10 at 2:30 pm. I knew PO was closed Friday for Veterans Day so I expected my package to arrive today, Saturday. Today Track and Confirm states that the package is out for delivery since 9:00 am. It is now 6:00 pm and I don't think it will come tonight after waiting ALL DAY. Well, I've been waiting since Sunday. I purchased 2 other items on eB within the same week and both of them already arrived.

Why is it always the one you want most to arrive is the one always delayed??? What else can I do now besides wait - email seller? call USPS and complain? Why would USPS say it is out for delivery today and not deliver it? No delivery on Sunday so now its waiting time again on Monday. I hope it arrives then. When can I file a complaint? What type of feedback should seller get regarding shipping? Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for letting me vent.

Exactly how will emailing the seller get it there any faster? The only complaint you would have is the out for delivery notice and no package. Are you at the end of the route? I am and that has happened to me a few times esp if there was a substitute carrier----they get so delayed that the package is returned back to the PO and resent out the next day.
Holidays tend to bog things down even further.
I can't imagine what kind of claim you would be thinking of filing at this point. You have zero grounds for anything because it is premature.
The seller shipped .....the PO will deliver when they can. At this point the seller should get positive fb and good stars.....why on earth wouldn't she?:shrugs:

In her listing, she stated "effective immediately all items over $500 will be shipped FedEx with insurance." She also stated she "has had terrible experience with USPS with very expensive items and all very expensive items will be shipped FedEx with no exceptions." She further stated that "PO does not allow insurance over $500 online." The item was sold for $1010. When I received the tracking number, that's when I discovered she shipped via USPS instead of Fed Ex. Sending the seller an email is not going to get my packageto me any faster (I know that) but I was going to send her an email to ask why she shipped USPS instead of FedEx (as it was stated in her listing) since the item I bought was more than $500.

I don't know where I am on the mailing route. I will be calling the post office and ask why they will put in the Track & Confirm that my package is out for delivery as of 9:00 am this morning. I mean the seller sent the package with signature confirmation so I would think that the reason the Track & Confirm was updated was for the post office to let me know to have someone home waiting to sign for the package.

Call me confused!! Please explain the contradiction. And why is it that you never mentioned until now that you are upset that it would come by USPS?

Generally, for all services except express mail, there's no updating at all until delivery is made. So the fact that you are seeing tracking is the exception, rather than the rule.

And all it means when it shows "out for delivery," is that the parcel left the distribution center and was put on the truck for intended delivery today. It doesn't mean that it WILL be delivered; just that at 9:00, it left the hub.

Is it possible to see a link to the listing? I'd like to see exactly what the seller shows as her shipping timeline and method of shipping.

I am confused too...I was expecting my item was going to be shipped FedEx because it was over $500. But when I saw the tracking number provided, it was for USPS. I'm not upset that it was sent USPS. I am disappointed that I didn't get the package today as I was hoping.

This is what was state in her listing:
Shipping is done via USPS and I ship 24-48 hours after receiving payment. I will gladly combine shipping and I'm willing to use flat-rate boxesauctionboutique.com/editor/wysiwygpro/images/smileys/smiley4.gif If you need the item on an expedited basis please let me know prior to bidding. I can also overnight via FedEx or USPS on request. Buyer pays all shipping fees.

All items sold in excess of $500 will be shipped via Fedex with insurance. It's the buyer's choice of having it shipped overnight or 2nd day. After having a terrbile experience with the Post Office on a Very Expensive package all expensive items must be shipped Fedex - no exceptions. The post office does not alllow insurance on items over $500 online. This is done for both your protection and mine. Take my word for it, it's worth it.
Ah, okay. I did find the listing and I see the ambiguity. Based on the $999.99 price of the shoes, she should have shipped by Fedex. I do see reason for confusion but I'm bothered that your complaint never even mentioned that she shipped using a method that she said she wasn't going to use.

Your complaint centers on the fact that you haven't received the item and not that it wasn't shipped by the method she described and you (supposedly) expected. And based on that, I think you're premature in worrying.

Understand that you won the item late on a Sunday. At the very earliest, she wouldn't have been able to ship for at least 15 hours. But according to the terms of her listing, her expedited shipping was for 3-4 days delivery and she also offered an express service, which you could have opted for. (It would have cost $25 according to the listing.)

WOW...you're fast
. You already found the listing. I never was fast posting in tPF:laugh:. Anyways, I am sorry you were bothered by me not mentioning the shipping methods. You are right, I needed to vent/complain that I did not get my beloved Christian Louboutin shoes. These shoes on their way to me are one of my UHGs.:graucho: I have been stalking eB since early this year.

I could've opted for the $25 shipping but did not know how to go about it. I don't buy from eB often so I have limited experience.

BB, thank you so much for allowing me to vent.

Based on your tracking, it looks like they'll be delivered on Monday. Unfortunately, you lost a day with the holiday. Another consideration is that because of the holiday and long weekend, a lot of the regular mail carriers take an extra day off. (I know my own guy was off Thursday and Saturday.)

When that happens and a sub fills in, because he's not used to the route, it often can take him twice as long to get through it. So it's possible that he may have had the package but just ran out of time to deliver it.

That certainly isn't something that the seller is responsible for, so her feedback shouldn't be dinged, and even the post office can't be blamed for "wrongdoing." This kind of stuff happens and the bottom line is that as long as you get your HG shoes within an appropriate time, that's what you want.

Good luck and let us know how much you love them when they get there.

Is this weird or what? I last checked the mailbox around 6:00 pm (my time) and there was no mail. I assumed no more mailman after 6 pm. My sister just arrived now-11:30 pm (my time) and brought in mail - junk mail, bills, postcards, social security check, and a small package - but no package for me. Does this mean that the postman had time to drop off the mail but no time to deliver a package and get a signature. Is that normal to get regular mail but not a package that requires signature? I have been sitting in the family room typing away on tPF and going in and out of eB so I could not have missed a doorbell. I also have 2 small dogs that bark when the door bell rings.

I'm in the same boat, MadameElle...finally found a NWT red Celine mini luggage from a terrific tPFer on Bonanza. Fabulous price and overnight shipping (at her own cost) from Hawaii to the US. Because of the holiday and my post office closing at noon on saturdays...I have to wait till monday. She made a wonderful effort but no one can control the post office. LOL!

No card from the mailman? It could have been a mistake with the tracking. Hang on tight, the Loub will be worth it.:smile1:

No card left on door or with the rest of the mail. I just checked Track & Confirm page and now it is saying as of 5:39 pm yesterday there was a 'Notice Left.' What notice? There's no notice. There was no door bell. The dogs never barked like they always do when the door bell rings. Aren't they supposed to ring the doorbell if they need signature confirmation?

Now I am afraid that maybe they left the notice on the wrong door or with the wrong stack of mail. Are they going to retry delivering it for me or will I have to pick it up? How will I pick it up without the 'Notice?' Can I use the tracking number if I don't have that notice? Am I the only one that can pick up my package?-if this is the case then I won't be able to pick until Wednesday when I am off (I work 12 hr shifts). I'd call USPS with these questions, but they're closed today.

Congrats on the red Celine! I hope you get it Monday without further delay.

I feel like USPS is lying you know. They updated the Track & Confirm that they left a notice and they didn't. The mailman didn't even door bell. I can't do anything about it until tomorrow when they open. I'd have to call them while I'm at work.
