Hi, I am hoping someone could help me. I would like to purchase multiple items from a seller on Ebay via PayPal. His instructions state the following:

.***IF YOU ARE PURCHASING MULTIPLE ITEMS, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE BEFORE MAKING A PAYMENT. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE ON SHIPPING DISCOUNT IF PAID FOR SEPARATELY.

I don't understand what that means? When I use Paypal, my order immediately goes through. I do not have an option to wait for an invoice. Can someone clarify for me?

I never used ebay before and am extremely puzzeled. I usually only use Paypal when I shop on Etsy.
If the seller has BIN items and requires immediate payment, you can't wait for a combined invoice. The seller would have to remove the IPR (immediate payment requirement) from each listing. Then you could buy the items and the seller would send the invoice.

I recommend emailing the seller first to find out what the combined shipping price will be for items a, b, and c. SHe might combine to save herself money but may not actually reduce your price.

Thank you so much for your response. Unfortunately, I found an option to request total price from seller. I was hoping they would see I am purchasing 3 items and then create the invoice to reflect proper shipping costs.

I've been watching apair of shoes as I want/need leopard print ones. Saw a pair for a good price and asked the seller for shipping costs to me. She states the shoes were underpriced by accident and raises them by $50 and informs me shipping is $160! I purchase plenty of shoes from the US and shipping has never been that much. Why do sellers do that. Of course I'm no longer interested or watching. Bad business.

I hope you let her know why you aren't interested in her or her items any longer. That's BS!

I never thought to inform her of my disinterest. I guessed she'd figure it out when I don't bid. I always thought sellers like that could care less about my thoughts on things. You think it is worth it to write?
By letting the seller know that you walked away for a specific reason other than just changing your mind, the seller might rethink her practices. It might make the seller realize that there are lots of other sellers out there, most items aren't unique OOAK and because of what she did, she's losing a buyer.

In a slow market, sellers shouldn't be doing things that make buyers walk away.

(This isn't to imply that sellers should accept lowball offers, but to raise a price and gouge on shipping when someone shows interest is wrong.)

I took your advice and wrote the seller. She did not know of any other option than UPS for international shipping. She now knows that the USPS ship internationally as well for far less money. She did not back down on the price increase, oh well. Thanks BB!

Oh, well. It's her loss and you probably don't want to do business with that kind of seller anyway.

I won an auction for a pair of CLs in eB last Sunday, November 6 and paid same night via PP. eB's estimated delivery was 3-4 business days. Seller stated she ships USPS within 24-48 hours after receiving payment. I was expecting the package to arrive by Thursday, November 11, which would be the 4th business day. Tracking number was available Tuesday evening (I got notification that my item was being shipped). I assumed since it was only an electronic shipping label, that the item was not dropped off in PO or picked up by postman until Wednesday, November 9. Again, I was expecting the package by Thursday (4th business day) since package was being shipped Priority Mail and within the same state (CA). But it didn't arrive.

I didn't get an updated USPS Track & Confirm until Friday, November 11 stating that the package was already in my city's post office on Thursday, November 10 at 2:30 pm. I knew PO was closed Friday for Veterans Day so I expected my package to arrive today, Saturday. Today Track and Confirm states that the package is out for delivery since 9:00 am. It is now 6:00 pm and I don't think it will come tonight after waiting ALL DAY. Well, I've been waiting since Sunday. I purchased 2 other items on eB within the same week and both of them already arrived.

Why is it always the one you want most to arrive is the one always delayed??? What else can I do now besides wait - email seller? call USPS and complain? Why would USPS say it is out for delivery today and not deliver it? No delivery on Sunday so now its waiting time again on Monday. I hope it arrives then. When can I file a complaint? What type of feedback should seller get regarding shipping? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for letting me vent.

I assume the item will probably be delivered on Monday. If you won on Sunday and seller ships within 24-48 BUSINESS hours, her 48-hour shipping would have been by Wednesday and by your account, that's when it sounds as though she shipped.

Why you expected it on Thursday, I have no idea because even some express mail services are 2-day delivery. I'd have been very surprised if it would have come that quickly.

Friday was a legal holiday so there was no delivery that day and doesn't count in the postal service's estimated delivery times.

Maybe it might have been scheduled to be delivery today (Saturday) but many post offices have short hours on Saturdays and if your carrier didn't get to it, his day may have ended and he may not have been allowed overtime.

When that happens, the undelivered parcels go back to the post office for delivery on the next business day, which will be Monday. (And note that it's only 3 business days after shipment -- 2 days if you don't count Saturday. Many post offices don't count Saturdays as a business day.)

As for who to complain to, I don't believe you have a valid complaint even if there was someone to complain to. You'll have received the item in 2 to 3 days after it was sent. And even if it took longer, USPS doesn't guarantee delivery time on any service other than express mail.

As for feedback for the seller, she shipped within her terms and she cannot and should not be blamed for any perceived delay by the post office. (Note that I don't even think there's a delay!)

I was thinking "shipping" meant physically dropping off the package at the post office within 24-48 hours. I was expecting the item Thursday because that was within eB's "estimated delivery of 3-4 business days." I read somewhere that eB's estimated delivery time included seller's handling time. Thursday would've been the 4th business day. I was also thinking since I live only 60 miles or about an hour drive from where the item was coming from that it should only take 1-2 business days for the item to arrive (which would've been Thursday). So even if the item was not delivered Thursday, it still should have been delivered today.

I don't think it was a short day for the PO because on my way home from an errand around 4:00 pm (my mom was waiting for the package while I was out), I actually drove passed the PO delivery truck and was so excited thinking my package was delivered, but no such luck. If I knew there was no package, I may have just followed that delivery truck back to the PO to get my package:p.

Anyways, thanks for the input. I hope to receive my package on Monday.
