If you bought a item from a seller that has a return policy, would you return the item if you found it else where cheaper?
That's a great way to find yourself of BBLs across the world.

When you buy from ebay, you aren't only paying for the item. You're paying for the seller's time in shopping, gas in traveling from store to store, time to photograph and prepare listings, time and materials in preparing your item for shipping, her ebay and paypal expenses and the most important benefit you're getting is the convenience of never having to leave home and having the item delivered to your door.

Do you not think there's value in that? When a seller calculates all her expenses, she makes very little (if any) money.

If you think being a seller is so easy, I recommend you try it yourself.

Oh my! I do not sell often but do buy quite a bit. That would never even enter my mind! I do all of my research prior to purchase or deal with the ramifications of not doing so. I would not consider returning a purchase because I did not do due diligence.
The only exception is in RL. If I go to Macys and buy something that goes on sale at Boston Store a few days later, then I might return and rebuy elsewhere. But, even that is not likely with the cost of gas nowadays.

You are kidding..............right?

The same item will go for less sometimes or more. You wouldn't want to send the seller the difference if you saw it sell for more, would you? You will drive yourself crazy chasing the 'best' deal. Be happy it was a good price (or I assume you would not have bought it in the first place) and that it was as described.

Sellers aren't Wally World and should not have to play the price match game. :nono:

You are right:smile1:

Okay, I don't normally post in the ebay forum (although I read it almost daily) but I HAVE to vent.
It's understandable that some sellers take a few days to ship their items. Sometimes I get so busy, it takes me two-three days to get something in the mail (which to me is unacceptable for me as a seller, but it happens, and I cannot do anything about it.) I can understand. If an item is going to take a day or two to ship (or it didn't get shipped on the day I said it would), 99% of the time I will let the buyer know and apologize. It's just common courtesy, and I feel terrible about it when it happens. On ebay, it's different...I usually give the sellers 4-5 days to ship the item, since that is what ebay allows.
BUT...as a buyer, I am getting sick and tired of the following:
I purchased an item on May 28th, paid immediately. I have YET to recieve it. I emailed the seller earlier last week (June 8th), they said it had been mailed. From June 8th until now, it should have gotten here...it is only an envelope! Not a bag, not a big item. A piece of paper with a coupon card in it (that expires the 20th!!). I have to drive a long way just to use this card, make plans to go to the store to use this card, but I cannot do that because I have yet to receive it. I cannot just grab it and go.
Am I overreacting here, or is this some bull? I don't think I have ever had to wait this long for something I bought off Ebay, especially something time sensitive. And of course, no communication about this, except for when I emailed them that one time. I DID tell the seller my predicament about having to make plans to use it.
I have only left one negative feedback in my entire existence on ebay, it was my first buy way back in '06-07. I am normally very patient and understandable. Easygoing. I leave 5 stars even when it's not honest, because I know that stuff happens...whether they tell me or not.
But honestly, I feel like leaving negative feedback for this seller. It's a shame, too, because their FB is 100% with "Quick Shipping!" wrote all over it.
Thoughts? Advice? Any help is appreciated, because I am just beyond frustrated with this.

Absolutely not.

I think you're completely justified. I could not be as patient as you have been. I am a seller myself and list 5 day handling in my listings and feel bad if I actually get to that 5th day but sometimes work just interferes. I've gone over the limit twice during my company's layoff periods and apologized profusely, offered to cancel or continue, reimbursed shipping and/or sent $5 or $10 in refunds to express my regret. Your transaction is a legally-binding agreement and there's no way sellers would be tolerant if you pulled that garbage on them so as a buyer why should you require less? Dare I ask what the tracking # shows for a mail date on the envelope? :smile1:

With a time sensitive item, there's no excuse for a seller taking that long to ship.

No tracking was provided...not even marked as shipped. Like I said, the only communication was the lone email I sent...she told me it had been mailed and "thank you for your patience". That was it. And that was on the 8th.
This is not a newbie seller...they have done over 100 transactions.

Thank you for your advice, ladies...more than likely, I will be leaving negative feedback. I hate to do it, but this is just ridiculous.

I think people usually lean the other way and are too quick to leave negative feedback but it sounds like your situation really does warrant it. If it helps, consider that other buyers will benefit from your experience.

Have you considered filing a claim or will you wait for a while to see if it shows up?

If you sell on Ebay, heads up about a thread on Seller Central -- I think it's entitled "buyer copied my Listing" - I saw it in a thread on the Ebay purses board.

You need to read it and put reallygreen14 on your blocked list. She is using purse sellers as her drop shipper, pays late and files claims on purses she has received and resold. Read the thread.
