I'm selling some clothes on ebay. Yesterday, one buyer asked me to make her a deal for two items with free postage. We agreed with HER PRICE. So I sent her the invoice. Then, today, she changed her mind, she said she doesn't want the two items any more.
The two clothes are not expensive, and don't have 'buy it now' price. I'm just upset a little.
I mean, we made a deal, it's like a contract, but she just broke it.

That stinks! As someone who buys and sometimes sells on ebay, it's a definate no, no.:nono: I would be upset too. I believe ebay has a way to cancel the transaction so you can relist your items without being charged again. Best of luck!

I use to have really good luck with shoes on ebay, but it seems like my has run out. After buying another pair of nice work shoes, the seller has once again canceled because they are out of my size. This is three times in a row :(
That's so frustrating! I understand the occasion honest error a seller can make but 3 times in a row?!?!?

Ebay policy requires that items must be available.
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/selling-practices.html

When buyers bid on or purchase an item on eBay, they should feel confident that the item is available and will be delivered in a timely manner.

What to do
You must ensure the items you are offering are in stock for the duration of the listing and are delivered to the buyer, unless the buyer doesn't meet the terms of your listing.
If you run into an inventory problem that's beyond your control, you're still responsible for letting the buyer know when the item will be available or issuing a refund for the full amount immediately.
What not to do
You're not allowed to:

  • List an item that may be out of stock at the time of purchase.
  • List an item that you're simultaneously selling outside of eBay.
  • Offer an item that may not be what's delivered to the buyer.
Those sellers can be reported as NPS if they're making a habit of this.

The seller apologized and said his/her assistant didn't do the new inventory right. Seller offered me 25% off my next purchase so we will see. Seems like a genuine accident, but still it is frustrating-especially since I was so excited the seller had a fair number of nice shoes in my size (or at least, seemed to).

Seller send Authentic Bag in a Fake Gucci Dustbag. Should I mention it or leave it alone?
It happens occasionally. The seller probably has no clue.

It happened to me with something I purchased. I received an authentic item in a commonly seen fake box. I disposed of the box but did let the seller know in case she had more boxes. I wanted her to know that since the box is a huge red flag, buyers might allege "fake" if she uses them again to send items.

Thanks BeenBurned:smile1:my thoughts exactly.

I was directed here from the Coach forum, and I am fairly new to the whole eBay experience.

I am looking to purchase several handbags, and I do not sell on eBay (maybe down the road). I am looking for specific styles to replace some lost in a flood.

I've bid on a variety, lost some and won some. My concern is my feedback number is "1" - only a seller provided me with feedback.

Is that number a concern for me to make legitimate bids? I've been warned of the shill bidding issue. I know what that means, but do not know what to look out for. Can you tell through the bidding information if someone is simply trying to get the cost up, but does not plan to purchase? How can you tell?

I'm on a mission for some replacement Coach Sabrinas, but do not need to spend a whole lot. Any way I can be smarter regarding that?

Hello everyone,
I have two issues but I will discuss this one first. I need help. I purchased a dress that was auctioned on ebay but the seller sold it to me off ebay. I paid via pp. The dress arrived with a a big noticeable hole on the bottom and a ripped seam at the zipper. I immediately contacted the seller and said I'd like a partial refund for the cost to repair the dress. She agreed. Went to several tailors and they cannot fix the dress (HL). I asked the seller for a complete refund and she denied it and offered a partial. I'm not interested in a dress I cannot wear or repair correctly. Should I pursue my full refund or take the partial? I wonder about my chances of winning since it was off ebay.
Thanks for any advice.

I HATE how sellers sell the same items on eBay AND elsewhere. Years ago I was sent the wrong color iPod Mini, and they couldn't ship me the right one - now even with luxuries I see it. I found the SAME pair on eBay and Bonanza! I sent an email asking what she does in the case of double buys.

I wouldn't really want to deal with such a seller unless I were DYING for those shoes. Big turn off.

When I view a listing (from a link or something) and see the seller cancelled because the item is no longer available, I almost get a little nauseated!!

That's me, I welcome others who disagree - from a buyer perspective mostly. I kind of think it might be a selfish seller thing, but I will let myself be corrected if there is a lovely tPFer who can justify it. :smile1:

Oh, I forgot about this!! Yay to eBay.

I have it set so my Bonanza Buyer has to have their order approved before I sell it. That way I can take it off ebay. I can also make sure I have it before I approve the order.
