I wanted to give my first impressions. This is the bag that looks like
a large zip zip with a zipper across the front and thin handles that
do not have any hardware.

In black, the bag is very understated and a bit boring, due to the
lack of gold hardware and lack of trim. I like the size and the function
and it's not overly heavy. The 1/2" wide detachable long strap is 3 part so it can
be shoulder or cross body.

The leather is pliable and the look of the bag will not remain crisp over time
since it's top heavy (zipper, handles). I'm sure it will tend to slouch as the
leather softens.

To me the bag is very functional and laid back without being overly casual.
I can see using this bag on an everyday basis. It's more buttoned up than
a tote or hobo, and big enough for a lot of stuff. But it doesn't read
elegant like an Alto leather bag. I hand carry my bags.

To sum it up... in black, this is an old lady bag. The pebbled leather one
I have in a vibrant spearmint color does not give off that same vibe.
So the combination of the color and the style is the reason for my reaction.
I think there are better styles if you want a black Florentine handbag.

I also ordered the navy before I had seen the black in person .Yes, that
breaks my own rule, but I did it anyway since I already had this style
in a different leather/color. I'll let you know what I think about the navy
when it arrives. The red zipper tape may make all the difference.

L.J i Really like the look of it, I want to try it in Bordeaux. I worry about the handles when shoulder carrying as they are fixed sticking straight up. I wouldn’t mind just hand carrying and could use it wherever I have occasion to hand carry. will it fit over the crook of your arm for arm carry?

maybe @RuedeNesle can answer do the handles on your red Toscana bother you or get in the way when you shoulder carry or crossbody?

Yes, it fits over the crook of my arm wearing a long sleeve knit and a
thin fleece quarter zip top. It's a close fit, but comfortable.
My arms are average plus. I don't know how it would fit over a coat,
but I'm not concerned since most of the time I'll hand carry.
It certainly has more room than the Flo satchels with the foldover
smile top zippers in mini or even small (until they slouch).

The handles don't bother me or get in the way. It can be hand carried or in the crook of your arm. When I got it I thought that was how I was going to carry it most of the time. But because it's heavy I carry it with the crossbody strap 99% of the time.

The handles don’t bend crossbody? After seeing L.Js pic I want it in Bordeaux. I don’t have any with the fixed handles. Its subtly says luxury to me. I think it’s perfect, did I mention I want it… thank you for the pic L.J

The handles don't bend. I can't find a pic of me with it crossbody. This was the pic I took when my GDD and I went to the Livermore outlet in September. You can see the handles are still stiff despite all the times I've carried it crossbody, which is how I carried it that day.

When a handbag design has handles that don't have hardware
that allows them to swivel, the intention of the design is that
the handles will stay upright.
HOWEVER, over time the handles will bend. While this might
make it more comfortable for wear crossbody or on the shoulder
it ruins the look of the handles. Since there is no hardware (ring)
when the handles relax and bend they end up with a permanent
crease and dent. It detracts from the look of the bag.

I try very hard to store my bags with this type of handle in a way
that the handles are protected and stand tall. When a rolled handle
flops, it not a good look. If the handles are strappy in design,
then it's not so bad.

I know that styles change and permanent upright handles without
hardware come and go in handbag design. It's a very clean look
when the handbag is brand new. Not so much when the bag ages.

So carrying over the QVC talk here. I downloaded the app on XFinity. I searched Dooney, and the recent clips show up. I’m watching the one where they showcase the Florentine Drawstring, and it has white trim around it. I haven’t seen this on the website.

I'm glad you downloaded the app! I have Sling and I'm able to record shows. I save the last two to watch when I just need to have the TV on. I saw the Florentine drawstring bag. It's beautiful!
