Dooney FLORENTINE Clubhouse!!

I like the look of the large domed satchel and I was wondering if you could tell me more about its size and what it holds. does it have more capacity than the zip zip? Do you fit your items in it vertically? Is it heavy as you hand carry it? Thank you LJ I was eyeing the Bordeaux color

I just checked ILD and they have 3 Flo domed satchels that look similar....
but one of them is a different style and the other 2 are the same Flo domed
satchel, one large and one 'regular' (no size label). It's very
confusing.

The bag I bought, the large Flo domed satchel
8L1955 is 9.5" x 6.5" x 12".
The 'regular one', 8L1954 is 8.25" x 6" x 10".

The different one, similar, with the same name
is 8L1914 and it's 9.25" x5.25" x11.5".
That one has hardware so the handles can fold down.
That's a plus, to me, but the base is much narrower,
and I wanted the roominess of the large with the 6.5" base.

There are other domed satchels but their shape is less rounded,
less domed, and they look more like the classic Dillen satchel shape.
I like that shape also, and I'm guessing it's less structured and a little
more casual looking. I have some of those also, from prior purchases.

I think ILD has all 3 sizes now. in the Flo domed satchel You have to look at the titles and details to be sure which is which. And they also have other Florentine satchels with
very similar names. But yes, the one I bought has the zipper across the front
8L1955BL. It looks like the shape of the pebbled leather zip zip.

It's really confusing, And sometimes the exact same name is used for
similar styles, so we really have to focus on the dimensions and also
on the details like how the straps are attched, and where the logo is placed,
and is there and outside zipper, or what about the trim?
It was easier when they gave their bags 'girls' names or names of
towns.

I'll just say it - it's like re-makes of old movies. In reality I think has to do with measurements, but imagination seems to be lacking. It's Flo Satchel I, Flo Satchel II, etc. with folded corners.

That's a good question, mNg. It's a medium size & lists at H 6" x W 5.75" x L 13" and the medium regular flo satchel lists at H 8" x W 5.75" x L 13" however I think the Savannah may be just a bit heavier in hand (perhaps due to leather thickness). A different shape of course, but I know that navy Savannah tote I posted IS heavy in hand.

I would think that it would be lighter since it doesn’t have all the hardware and belting…

And I love tassels. Where are they? I HATE it when people cut them off and want to sell the bag for unreasonable prices… the bag is altered, no thank you.
I do understand everyone doesn’t like tassels, so I guess this one is for them.

Now talk to me about that fabulous Florentine hobo… I am here for that bag in chestnut, yes please and thank you. Uh Santa I’ve been okay I guess lol

I’m not a fan of the corners. That extra leather looks good but the way it sticks out I would really worry about corner wear. Not to mention the weight of the extra Florentine folded on the corners. Agreed. And you need to voice your opinion. It matters just like everybody else's thoughts. Might make someone look at it differently, see it in a different light. Folk can’t get mad because everyone isn’t the same. We like what we like. I love you. And you should say what you think.

Here here! Same! And if left out for any length of time dust will get those folds.
