Still catching up with pics of the last 3 yrs. of purchases. I'm ready to change out from the AWL into something else & I was considering this one...but still undecided. It's the med flo savannah in natural. Haven't carried it yet.
your natural is really beautiful. Yes let’s take her out for a spin and see who’s she carries. Is she the same size as the small flo satchel? 13 in long?

That's a good question, mNg. It's a medium size & lists at H 6" x W 5.75" x L 13" and the medium regular flo satchel lists at H 8" x W 5.75" x L 13" however I think the Savannah may be just a bit heavier in hand (perhaps due to leather thickness). A different shape of course, but I know that navy Savannah tote I posted IS heavy in hand.

:lol:You have an excellent sniffer there!
I was pleasantly surprised by the red zipper as opposed to the usual brown one. It pops!
Funny thing about the red zipper tape on navy Flo handbags.....
I love it now. But when it was first introduced, may years ago,
I preferred a more monochrome look and wished they had
done the zipper tape in navy to match the bag.

Now I've really come to appreciate the detail and the contrast
of the red against the navy. I took a long time
deciding whether to get the black or navy Flo large domed satchel.
I already have Flo bags (and others ) in both navy and in black,
so it's not as if I needed one of the colors to fill a void in my collection.
And the navy with the red zipper does pop. I decided on the
black because I will reach for it more. But..... I am tempted to
go back for the navy too! The size and style of the
large domed satchel is perfect for me as an everyday handbag.
I have it in that size in pebbled leather and I really enjoy using it.

For those that have the Clayton? What’s behind the flaps? Please tell me they’re pockets.
Yes, on the front of the Clayton there are 4 small pockets.... a pocket under each flap and
a side entry pocket that is in front of it. The pockets are good for small flat items.
The only thing I will note is that the flaps can curl up at the sides if the pockets
are heavily used.

And the Clayton is a heavy handbag. But it's stunning and sophisticated.
You need to be young and strong to tote it around. It's a super bag for work, especially
in a corporate environment or as a briefcase alternative for those with
jobs that take them out of the office.

Dooney also made a style called Kingston around the same time as the Clayton
was originally introduced. The Kingston is a hobo. It looks very much like
the Clayton, but it's much lighter. The front pocket/flap design is more simplified...
it has a similar look, but not as many pockets. Because it's a hobo design,
the Kingston doesn't hold as much as the Clayton and it's not a briefcase alternative.

I like the look of the large domed satchel and I was wondering if you could tell me more about its size and what it holds. does it have more capacity than the zip zip? Do you fit your items in it vertically? Is it heavy as you hand carry it? Thank you LJ I was eyeing the Bordeaux color

If they bring back the Kingston, I’m ALL over it…

The large Flo domed satchel is bigger than the zip zip.... most importantly the base is deeper.... (6.5")
I don't have to stack items vertically as there is more than enough room across the bottom
front to back and side to side. I don't know if the zip zip is taller, from memory,
it might be, but in reality I don't find the large Flo domed satchel to be short.

The domed Flo satchel seems to come in 3 sizes...
small, regular, and the large. I haven't compared all the measurements to each other
and to the zip zip, but when I've looked at the small or regular Flo domed satchel, I've
decided they just weren't roomy enough for me. In my experience the depth of the
base combined with the length of the base are the key measurements.
The large Flo domed satchel is not an oversized bag, it just has a deep (wide) bottom.
For a hand held carry, that's not an issue, but an advantage. If you carry
on your shoulder or crossbody, then you need to consider if the wide base
is going to be an issue.

I didn’t know this came in 3 sizes. That’s very good to know. I’ve seen another Large domed satchel and it looks to be wide. these are NOT the same bag, right?

I think ILD has all 3 sizes now. in the Flo domed satchel You have to look at the titles and details to be sure which is which. And they also have other Florentine satchels with
very similar names. But yes, the one I bought has the zipper across the front
8L1955BL. It looks like the shape of the pebbled leather zip zip.

Ok so here are the measurements. I’ll post the pic first then the specs… thank you for your sage advise to look at ther measurements. Just looking at the bags I would think they were the same. These are all from ild eBay
