However, premium leather, from premium brands, should be pristine,
in my opinion.
This 100%

Some of the difference is marketing (brand name) and
some is manufacturing (hand made vs. more assembly line/machine made),
and maybe some of it is the quality of the raw materials used?
take a breath before watching this. LOL
But he's right.

The fir color is my absolute favorite in any D&B bag. I know that's what they called it on their vintage bags, I think it's called Ivy now. Or did they keep the fir name for the Alto line?
I have been seeing "fir" as a color on the D&B Alto line for at least a year.

I think in all leathers there have been some lovely green shades over the years. I donated a florentine in moss and the color was the best thing about the bag. An Alto bag that I have is, I believe, called olive. Anyway, I like the shade.

The fir is deep and rich with some blue. I think the Marla bag comes in the fir. I'm waiting for a good sale.

Here's one of the used bags I bought in the past 3 years. It's the Flo Edge tote aka Flo Savannah line. I'm glad I didn't spend full price because I'm not wild about the zipper. Imo it's placed too far down from the top. The florentine on these bags (i bought satchels in red, black & natural) does not clean up with conditioner as nicely as the "regular" flo bags. I went over this twice so it's as good as its going to get!

She looks new. Awesome job clean up and conditioning her.

Thank you @mushroomNgrass! I should never have broken my "I'll never buy used" mantra though...cause after I did I went a little hogwild. In my youth I bought used all the time & I said when I could afford it I would NEVER do that again (except used cars!).
Anyhow, so now I've got 2 more bags to clean up.

i would Love to find used bags in that great condition. since a lot of older styles aren’t made anymore….
lady made Me an offer of $40 for her red suede tulip shopper… I’m looking at it. But I don’t know how to take care of suede. It looks to be in great condition

Yes I try to stay away from suede - but each to their own of course. Back in the day I had some suede heels & I wasn't especially fond of them - the cleaning, brushing, that first mark that was unfixable. Now I have a partially white dog so I can just imagine picking dog hair off my bag all the time lol. But they are pretty. :)

I really like this line. The details by the handles, reminds me of the vintage speedy satchel & Gladstone bags.

Hey guys. Hope everyone is doing well! I need some advice. I've developed a bit of an obsession with the Alto Double Gusset Buckle Brief Case. Absolutely the most gorgeous briefcase I've ever seen. It's currently on sale on D&B for 20% off for their "pre-Black Friday sale". I know they are constantly having sales, but I don't ever recall seeing this exact model on sale. I feel like they exclude this particular bag from their website entirely lol for their big Days of Dooney sales. Has anyone seen this briefcase with a steeper discount than 20% off? Wondering if I should buy now or wait. I also have never seen this bag on ILD. Any advice appreciated!
