Ooooh I'm sorry! I got things twisted didn't I! Re: buying second hand is tricky, you're spot on. We are at the mercy of photos, lighting & the honesty of the seller. It can get ugly.
Hope your Vegas trip is highly profitable! You're always doing something fun.
Thanks LB! :hugs:
So far it's been a lot of fun, I just woke up from a looong nap. This day started around 1am and I was exhausted. Looking forward to a fun (and profitable  ) time.

Also the double zip wristlet is nice and roomy. The wristlet is non detachable but it folds into the pouch. Very nice size and the two pockets, big pocket has a zipper compartment and card slots, and the front pocket fits my iPhone 12 Pro and make it super functional I’ll be getting it in Florentine Black Friday
Thanks for the suggestions. The style I purchased does not fold over. It is simple with a zipper at the top. The florentine red was $298 marked down to $89.99. The black and brown were a higher price on ILD. The red sold out on Sunday.
My Alto Arietta arrived yesterday in black. I like it, but glad it was on sale for $299.99 because I don't LOVE it. It was between the one I purchased and a black Alto Ella. I kind of like the Ella better but have the Ella in saddle and went for the new style.
I am stuck on the D&B bags that zipper due to ease of use and a little extra security.

awesome. That arietta is GORGEOUS! I wanted it for that $299. I saw 2 YouTube videos on it, handbag hauler and dooney addict 615. Beautiful bag, the strap alone is a work of art. It’s tiny and from the videos won’t hold that much. The fir color was calling my name. Let us know if you keep it and how much you can fit in it. Is it heavy? It is very unique looking and really nice for date nite. I love it.

I think it was a final sale. If I am incorrect, I am keeping it because I was looking for a small bag. It looks like a bag that will only hold the essentials. I have a large black Alto bag and was on the hunt for a small bag.

I purchased an Alto fir bag last year and returned the bag. It is very rare of Mr to return a bag. The one I purchased was only discounted a small amount and I returned within hours of receiving it based on style. I can't remember the name of the bag, but the fir color was stunning.

I meant me. When will I learn to proofread?

The particular bag in question that I have has striations on the front and back of the bag. I did get it on sale, but even with the sale, I paid around $370 for it. I may be sending it back as I'm not sure I want to spend that amount on the imperfections. Just seems like Dooney is sending out a lot of bags with striations these days in the natural color.
If the leather on the handbag bothers you, then you should return it.
For that price you want to love your handbag.

I've thought a lot about 'natural imperfections' in leather.
And yes, they are a characteristic of full grain leather.
Leather from different parts of the animal will have different characteristics.
If the surface of the leather is treated in some way (sanded, buffed, etc.)
then these natural imperfections can sometimes be masked or eliminated.
And treatment of the surface of the leather is not unusual in the handbag
industry. I'm not sure the leather is still classified the same way.
However, premium leather, from premium brands, should be pristine,
in my opinion. Brands often market the naturalness of the imperfections as
a desirable characteristic of the leather.

I guess it's a matter of personal
preference of the buyer combined with the business strategy of the
manufacturer. For example, Hermes has multiple different leathers with differing
characteristics, all pricey. What accounts for the differences in the
leathers.... type of leather, tanning method, embossing, natural
characteristics, surface treatment ?????? Or do they only use the best
(most blemish free) leather to create their handbags?
Is it fair to compare a handbag that costs under $1,000 with one that
costs $10,000 or more? Some of the difference is marketing (brand name) and
some is manufacturing (hand made vs. more assembly line/machine made),
and maybe some of it is the quality of the raw materials used? The same
analysis can be used to compare cars or fine jewelry and many other things.

I do like that. I don’t like the flap, smile or fold over as much as like the domed zip styles. I love the Wide zip openings, I can see everything, no fuss. Since I’ve gotten the 2 drawstrings, I like them too. Who woulda thought I’d like drawstrings so much. If it wasn’t still raining here, I’d be back in my small Logan. I LOVE that Logan. I would have gotten the brown tmoro Logan in that 35% off Florentine sale if everything didn’t sell out so fast. Man the people were all over that sale.

Striations are normal in some Hermes leather. This is Hermes Togo. If you enlarge you can see very mild striations. In other bags it is more significant. I’m with you, not a fan of striations in a Dooney or a Hermes. To each his own.

Chowlover: thank you for the info. I'm always eager to learn more about leather
and other fine handbag brands.

I can’t see paying all that money for a Hermes bag where the striations are all over the front of the bag looking like something dripped all down the front. A few satiations sure, but the entire front of the bag, nah For that price my bag better be pristine, not a thread hanging, not a spot nor blemish…From a distance I didn’t see it. But @chowlover2 said zoom in and I was like what the what?

The Alto Arietta is beautiful I saw it and really considered buying it also, but
decided it wasn't big enough for me. Lately, I've found that many of the very
appealing Alto styles are just too small for my needs. And they are so hard to resist
when they are on a good sale.

W O W !!!!!
I'm not a fan either. But I'd be super pissed because Hermes is so expensive.
