I just got one and I doubled the strap for shoulder carry. I didnt dare try it crossbody. It doesnt feel too bad. It feels lighter than the domed buckle satchel, with the same items inside. Also it’s not an awkward carry. So far I’m really liking this size. I thought it would be too big for me, but I find it perfect. I wouldn’t try it on all day outing Tho. I’d switch to a backpack. I can not do crossbody, I have neck issues.
Glad the large Flo satchel is working for you.

I don't know the relative weight of the 2 bags, but my guess is they are withing a few ounces of each other. But sometimes, the distribution of the weight can make a difference.... when items are close together inside
a handbag the weight seems heavier to me. My stuff in a tiny, light weight bags seems
heavier than the same stuff spread out in a larger bag. It's the old pound of feathers vs pound of sand comparison.... the sand takes up less space and seems heavier, but the
feathers and the sand weigh the same on a scale. So if the items in the satchel are spread out differently, and the weight of the bag itself is distributed differently,
one of the bags can feel lighter or more comfortable on the shoulder.

I also find that with a longer strap, whether carried by hand, on the arm, or on the shoulder, a bag feels heavier. It's as if the extra strap length pulls the bag down
and adds to the swing which makes it feel like the bag weighs more. I don't know
if there is any scientific principle here, but it's been my experience.

There must be a scientific reason. I can't carry large, heavy bags crossbody. They feel heavier that way. The heavier a bag, the shorter I need the strap to be.

I wouldn’t dare try crossbody with the large or small satchels. It feels great with the strap doubled for shoulder carry. Enough clearance where it’s not right under my arm. I like that it’s a comfortable carry and less awkward than the domed buckle satchel. I think because domed buckle is so tall it’s right under my arm. And at the shape at the bottom makes it harder to place my things unlike the large flo satchel. Well I saw a navy Buckley NWT come up at a really great price. I slept on it thinking if it’s still there when I wake up, it’s meant for me to have, and just snagged it. Will be here this week and I will be revealing it and doing a comparison between the Buckley and the large flo satchel after a few weeks carrying both with the same items inside each.

Love the combo of the dark navy with the lighter trim. Beautiful.

I rarely see that color when I’m stalking the sites. It’s is on my radar now. Thank you. It’s like a summer day clear blue sky. Love it.
As I recall, Dusty Blue was one of the earlier Florentine colors. I haven't seen it offered (new) for many, many years.
Pale blue seems to be the current version of that kind of color tone. In between there were some other light blues
that came and went.

I wish Dooney did more blue tones, but these days they seem to concentrate more on core colors (black, tan/natural, red, navy (sometimes) and ecru). Fashion colors are limited to a very few for each
season/collection. Sometimes colors like pale blue will be brought back if the fashion trends are identifying them
as top colors at that time (like now). Or sometimes we will see a different version of a similar color after
the earlier color is no longer available.

In the old days, Florentine leather came in a rainbow of colors. The presentations on QVC often included
18 or more colors for the small satchel. Those were the 'good old days'. I miss all the shades of pink and
purple and blue. I even miss the yellows/mustards and greens. In those days it seemed necessary to have
lots of different colors in your collection and also to have multiple tones/shades that worked with different
colors in your wardrobe. Wine, bordeaux, plum were all different enough that I needed all of them!

I'm glad to see Dooney bringing back a lot of the older Florentine styles. They were beautiful then
and I appreciate them even more now. It would be nice to see more Florentine colors choices too.
Aqua, kelly green, and sunflower are coveted by many collectors and very rarely seen for resale.

That violet color was so beautiful also the ivy. I’m drooling watching this qvc videos looking at all the pretty colors. I saw one dusty blue satchel. Condition was ok but they wanted way too much. And I can understand that since I’ve only seen one in that color for Re sale… beautiful color also that lavender was so lovely. Yes please to the Bordeaux crimson and plum LOL

i need to purchase a ticket to ban island, but not till after my birtday. So my Florentine collection is growing. I am pleased that I have only one of each style bag, thanks to advice I have received here. There are soooo many pretty colors to choose and that makes it very hard to get just one. that being said the UPS man just dropped this beauty off. My first preloved small Florentine satchel in brown tmoro. It’s smaller than I expected, but very very beautiful. Smooth, soft, very well taken care of. The seller packaged her with care and gave me an extra dustbag. My iPad 11pro barely fits, but it’s in there after some maneuvering. I dont think I will go for anything smaller than this. I am happy with this preloved purchase….

Enjoy your bag. I have mentioned, I have this bag in navy in the larger size, and this is the bag I carry frequently. I like that I don't have to "baby" an Alto.

After years of use, the only thing showing any sign of wear are the tassels, but the entire bag (the leather) is perfect. The tassels look a little "fluffy". The florentine holds up well if you don't get it too wet.
