They are really good looking bags.
This one caught my eye.
Does Dooney set good sales prices for this line?
The style you picked, the Viola is beautiful. And it's the one that
got away from me. I always wanted it, but knew that only the larger size
had any chance of working for me. I never found the larger size
on sale, so I don't own it. And I'm not even sure that size would
be roomy enough for me. It's a very structured style.
The Alto handbags are rarely included in Dooney or ILD sales.
And when they are, it's most likely only selected styles.
But it does happen, and I've bought a number of Alto bags
on Dooney or ILD on sale. You need to check every time they have
a sale, as soon as the sale starts. And also check ILD on ebay.
And then be prepared to order immediately.
Set your price target in your mind and set the money aside so you
can take advantage of a sale if you find it and the price is good.
They used to have Alto bags at the outlets. But that was
stopped many years ago. Most Alo collectors consider 40% off
a good price for a new Alto. A deeper discount is a no brainer.
The list prices on Alto are high. But these are high quality handbags.
And in today's luxury handbag market, I think they are worth the money....
if you think it's worth spending $$$ on handbags.
A word of caution, I would not buy final sale items, no matter how
good the price, unless I could personally inspect them first.
In all the Alto's I've bought anywhere, I've only had 1 with a quality issue,
but I was able to return it.
I don't have any experience with preloved handgags.
