I match to the outfit more than the season. But I do have certain bags that just seem to be a no-fly-zone during certain seasons because they just don't match the tone or colors of my seasonal outfits. Specifically my heavier large dark bags overwhelm my skimpy summer outfits and my tiny little light colored bags don't go with anything at all I wear during winter.

 Or people parking their cars so close to yours that as you try to get in, that your coat/bag is rubbing against their dirty cars.

I don't have seasonal colours for my bags, just clothing. However, I do like to brighten my winter attire with colourful hats, gloves and scarves.

Yep, sometimes you cannot escape it no matter how hard you try.

Particularly where I am. Summer or winter doesn't seem to matter - the weather can change in an hour. Light colors I stay away from. Period. Some bags I only use when I go to certain vacation destinations as their weather is consistent.

It randomly began to rain and I was carrying my Reade PM. The inside now has messy vachetta because the rain managed to make its way into my purse. I tried to shield it and it didn't work whatsoever.

That makes my heart hurt for you[emoji24]

While I've never had a bag ruined from the rain, I understand (I've done my fair share of hiding them under sweaters etc). I had a beautiful pair of suede Ferragamo flats ruined from random weather. When I replaced them I went for plain old leather. But it's not the same [emoji17]

Ouch, that is too bad. I only have one bag that is sensitive.. so me & it are not the best of friends, i just cannot deal with that.

Yes the color matters.....said the girl working on her rainbow. My outfits dictate my bags and since my outfits for summer are bright and more colorful then I carry my "summer bags". My bags are definitely by season. Plus we have winner here and certain colored bags could get ruined in the elements i.e. Snow and that grey slug that always manages to get on everything

Doesn't matter to me but all of my bags are neutrals that can be worn year round. Some are light neutrals, others dark, but I wouldn't pay that much money for a "one season" item.

Weather matters though and I will wear a canvas LV in the rain (and still protect it) rather than a leather bag.

It matters to me, and prefer to keep totally different handbags ( and wardrobe actually) to fit the seasons. More structured dark coloured bags seem to say London winter to me and lighter colours or straw bags summer. In some ways I celebrate the seasons through wardrobe choices.

For me it's more about texture than color. For instance I won't wear a raffia basket type bag in the winter or a black nubuck suede bag in the summer. I'd wear a regular black leather bag or a beige nubuck bag in the summer, but not something that is both a dark color and a heavy fabric.

It's also about weight and easy of wear. A bag that is really big and heavy and cumbersome probably won't get worn on a 90+ degree day. Neither would a bag that would sit high up in my sweaty armpit or a big hobo or crossbody that would rest against most of my torso. I mostly carry handheld bags in general but even more so in the summer as I want as little touching my body as possible.

And I don't usually wear my colorful floral print bags in the winter (like the givenchy prints), but that's mainly to give myself a break from something so loud not so much a season thing.

Not really about colors because most of my outfits are neutral colors - black, grey, navy.. so a bright color always pops. But the weather at the place I'm living is really humid in the summer so I usually go for "lighter texture" if that makes sense, like fabric totes/clutches in the summer but if I want to use a leather bag I will - just make sure I spray enough waterproof products to protect my bags.
