Does anyone find it hard to use a non-designer bag after having designer bags...?

Well, we must remember that there are tiers of designer handbags. 1st tier- Gucci, LV, Prada, Chanel, etc. Then there are 2nd tier- Tory Burch, Brahmin, MKors, Kate Spade, Coach. Dooney goes back & forth between 2 & 3- depending on the style. I read a post that considered Brahmin a non designer bag but this is not accurate. You see Brahmin stations at Hollywood events just like the other designer handbags. I only have LV, Gucci, Brahmin, Kate Spade, MKors, Coach, and Tory Burch. These are all the bags that I need to own and will own.

Not really. I can wear a $1500 Premier bag one day and grab a leather Fossil the next. Different bags have different purposes. Do I PREFER to use my expensive designer bags? Sure. If I don't use them I would have wasted my money, IMO.

premium designer, designer, or non designer... as long as i like it :)

Ditto... I can go back & forth I love all kinds of bags and does not have to be designer/ premium designer to be loved and lots of other bags are actually very well made. I have an inexpensive Fossil bag that means alot to me, makes my heart skip a beat and I grab it and go & enjoy every minute of carrying it. I have a workhorse Dooney & Bourke that looks great and I know I cannot damage if I'm going to a flea market or lumberyard for example. I have some lovely Coach tote bags that I carry when it's raining for instance and I love them too. And then I have my Gucci and BV bags that of course I love love love but I'm more selective when & where I carry them I guess they are more special and get babied more.

To answer OP's question: Yes. I can't look at anything else now without feeling like I'm slumming.

You know, I was being harsh. What I meant to say: Because I finally found my forever-bag, which just happens to be premium designer, I have trouble looking/checking out other bags because nothing compares to it. So, I'm not sure why. Because I am, after all, a purse addict.:graucho:

I bought a Guess bag on sale for $40 (ivory coated canvas, which I know will get too grubby to use for more than one season) for summer and even my husband commented on me buying a 'cheap' bag when I have an LV and several $300 range brands. But I wouldn't buy a $300 bag in that colour - I wouldn't even have paid full price (I think it was around $120) for Guess in that colour. And for most of my life I would have considered a $100 bag expensive.

I don't have a huge collection of bags, I only have three - one Balenciaga City, one Marc by Marc Jacobs and a Mulberry - but I have sometimes had occasions where a non-designer bag would come in handy, ie. walking the dog in the lashing rain, going out to a bonfire...anywhere I'd be worried my designer bags would get damaged.

There are quite a few nice non-designer bags about and I am strongly considering buying a leather satchel bag from ASOS for such occasions, but I really don't know if I'd ever use it when it came down to it. I feel my designer bags have spoiled me!

Does anyone else mix and match between designer and non-designer? How do people generally feel about it?
Not at all! I've got all sorts of bags! Some I spent a lot of money on....Balenciaga, Hermès, Gucci or Vuitton...And I have recently bought a George Gina and Lucy, a German brand lots of teenagers are crazy about.... I had it on sale for 75 euros and I love it! I also like my Upla cross body bag which I bought from a French website for 45 euros!
As long as the quality is there, the bag is cute, I'm happy!

Not really. Though I only own two designer, I find that I like the "cheaper" ones, as I don't have the worry of damaging them. Plus leather or other finer materials have to be looked after. I am also not a fan of most of the boring designs, in my opinion, of some of the higher end bags.
