Does anyone find it hard to use a non-designer bag after having designer bags...?

I don't really have any high end designer just contemporary stuff like Rebecca minkoff and local aussie labels like oroton & mimco but I can't go back to pleather bags anymore they just don't feel the same even if it's the perfect design
I don't mind non branded leather bags like nice ones from etsy but it has to be real leather

YES. I've only carried designer bags and wouldn't consider carrying anything less because the quality just isn't there nor am I into trend bags. Even if you get a seasonal bag from a premier designer, the bag will still hold value especially if its in a very unique color.

I am volunteering at a crisis assistance agency and I don't want to trounce in their with my expensive bags so I think I am going to buy a cheap no name black bag to carry. It just does not seem right to do otherwise

I only have contemporary designer bags like Kate Spade. But yes, I find it hard to carry bags I used to carry. They are mostly bags I bought at Asos and few china bags. The reason for this is many of the quality has disappointed me except for Asos brand, which is worth the sale price. I mean, I'd rather find Kate Spade/Coach for $70-$150 on eBay or during sale then spend $20-$40 for no-one-knows brands I used to buy. They hold up for years and it's well worth the money when they're on sale.

After owning a few designer bags LV's ...everything else appears cheap.. every little thread and stitch looks out of wack ... Ruins the entire outfit ...
Hair bags and shoes is what completes a classy look
even if you are just simply wearing just jeans and a t-shirt ....

I don't have a huge collection of bags, I only have three - one Balenciaga City, one Marc by Marc Jacobs and a Mulberry - but I have sometimes had occasions where a non-designer bag would come in handy, ie. walking the dog in the lashing rain, going out to a bonfire...anywhere I'd be worried my designer bags would get damaged.

There are quite a few nice non-designer bags about and I am strongly considering buying a leather satchel bag from ASOS for such occasions, but I really don't know if I'd ever use it when it came down to it. I feel my designer bags have spoiled me!

Does anyone else mix and match between designer and non-designer? How do people generally feel about it?
Chanel Caviar bags literally go through anything and come out flawless. plus the crossbody makes it so easy to do daily things while wearing them :)

I carry LV now and I find it really hard to carry Coach again. There is such a quality gap and value plunge. In a few months you'll find your bag on sale at the outlet or local department store. It's really annoying. I love how lv holds its value. It doesnt dissapoint and remains classic.

Not all no name brands are cheaply made. I have a beautiful black leather handbag that I bought from a couple who makes leather handbags and there is nothing cheap about it at all, I suspect it will probably hold up better than some of the designer bags out there. That being said I do like designer bags and and am finding it hard to buy otherwise, but if I see a no name bag I like, I will buy it, as long as it is not going to fall apart a week into using it!

I don't mind buying non-designer to test if I like a style. I recently bought an Aldo bag to see if I could use a domed satchel and found out I really liked it. In the past I've bought colorful bags non-designer to see if I could work it into my wardrobe and if not I'm only out 20-50 dollars and have a colorful bag that I can use till it wears. Also going to buy a le sport sac soon as I need a new school bag and don't want to shell out too much on something that might tear from large textbooks. Something from yes style or walmart I probably wouldn't buy as I want more than 2 uses out of it

I am spoiled by my designer bags as well. Sometimes I will take a tote to the beach or to the market that isn't designer but I find I miss my designer bag too much lol. I know it sounds silly but once you go luxury it's addicting.

There's a huge difference IMO between no-name and handcrafted. Handcrafted bags are basically what the high end brands do on a larger scale, and I would expect high quality from that kind of production. No-name bags to me mean the inexpensive mass-produced PVC bags you get at H&M or Forever 21.

I'm having trouble both going back to cheap bags and spending 4x the money for better quality ones - catch 22!

YES. I've recently been on the hunt for a new work bag. I currently have a crossbody leather Furla bag that I just need to replace. I don't stick to one brand... I have all kinds of designer bags.

I got a Zara bag online it was leather and close to $200 but the quality was not good at all so I returned it! Now I'm reluctant to get a "non-designer" bag. I've been looking for a nice leather bag nothing too expensive, functional, and subtle for work.

It's not even 10 years since I bought my first designer bag, YSL Easy. I was a big step then and I thought I wouldn't buy many others. Well, it's obvious now I was very, very wrong

I just can't go back. It's hard even to remember what I used to carry before, but they are all gone. All my bags are designer now. That doesn't mean they all show off the label or that they all are (very) expensive, but they have to be quality.

I think it's interesting that a lot of people think that designer = quality. I guess if you compare them to bags made to be disposable, yes. But there are plenty of non-BRAND leather masters that make things that last.

In general, I think 'brand' has become shorthand for quality, but really the bags are made to be relatively cheap to produce, with shortcuts made to make it appear to be excellent quality. But then a few years down the road they fall apart.

I think that brands don't get called on it because people baby their bags or resell before we really see how they wear.
