Does anyone find it hard to use a non-designer bag after having designer bags...?

I have some non-designer knock around bags that I use when going places that my nicer bags will get ruined or possibly stolen. My favorite is a plain jane SAK bag. Other than that, no. The pleather bags from Target or Walmart feel too cheap and icky to me.

For me, it depends on the place that Im in. When Im in Asia, I only feel comfortable using designer bags but when I am in Australia, Im perfectly happy using non-designer bags! Some non-designer bags do hold up better than designer ones :smile1:

I don't use non designer bags anymore, but I do have a versatile collection that is suitable for every occasion. I'm not being snobby or anything, but I find that all my needs are met with designer bags (quality. Brand name. Durability etc)

No. My favorite go-to bag when I travel is a no-brand bag. I feel safer without my designer stuff. I even switch my wallet to a cheapie one. But when I'm in my hometown, it's high end all the way. :)

After my first designer purse, LV Speedy 25, I haven't looked back... and this was almost 10 years ago. I don't think I went too crazy but the last few years, I haven't really bought much. I've actually sold most and in the process now of selling what's left of my premier high-end bags (anything that is recognizable, brand and style) and only keeping the ones that I can wear stealth-mode. When I finish my purse purge, I only plan to keep 3 old-school Balenciagas that are non-moto and really, they're weird looking... and my 'last luxe' Jil Sander lambskin bag with the most intense supple leather.

I don't think I can buy or carry non-designer brands anymore. I don't think they can give me that high, quality-wise. But I also don't think I can buy another LV, or Hermes, or Chanel. I've crossed a line somewhere and now I'm in a very gray area. Premier but under-the-radar. Hopefully even to other purse addicts.

What do u look for in a bag? That most designer bags don't have?

I can't say. I am in school and while I loved my YSL muse, functionality always worn and I'd find myself favoring my back pack. I carried the muse to school some days but I'd half way through the day crave my back pack. My lifestyle at the moment has me neglecting my designer bag in favor of free nylon bags. I mean heaves did that muse kill me when I went for an interview.

I haven't had any problems thus far. In fact, I struggle with the fact that I've spent so much more money on a designer bag when I have non-designer bags that are well-designed and of good quality as well.

Nope. All depends on what I'm carrying!

My first love will forever be my LEGO purse, purchased at age 12 in Disneyland. When I was younger and had no interest in bags and my mom would skip into LV dragging me behind, everyone was all over my LEGO bag. It's a simple bag modeled after a 2X2 brick. each of the pegs is a tiny zipper pouch (perfect for a bon bon I suppose, or a sample lip gloss) and has a velcro closure. But I suppose it's the last thing you'd see a teenager take into a boutique like that!

I don't own any premium designer brands but I have seen what I want in person and that already has put me in the same position, I cannot buy a non-designer bag. The feel and the quality of the material from any premium designer good is superb (Most of the goods...not all)

I pretty much carry whatever strikes my fancy at a partcular time, from LV and Gucci to Vera Bradley and Coach. I guess to a certain extent I am still carrying designer bags, just less expensive brands. So maybe I don't really know whether it would bother me, because I haven't carried a no-name brand for a long time. :blushing:

I feel the same. I have about 7 premium designer bags in my small collection and I can't see myself carrying anything less than those. Besides the status and look that they bring, the quality is so much better. I bought a cheap no name bag cause I thought it was really cute and it only took about 2 weeks for the zipper to zip right off the bag!
I had the same experience. pretty and quality cost
