Does anyone find it hard to use a non-designer bag after having designer bags...?

Not at all, my 2 recent bag purchases have been a Chanel tote - a tick the box kind of purchase - and a bag from an obscure New Zealand made brand with the most awesome thick deeply-coloured cobalt deer leather. Leather like the old-school Pradas used to have.

I've been buying Balenciagas for the colours, but this anonymous bag beats them all.

Sometimes I think those bags are the best. Great workmanship, unique, and quality. I think of those as more an obscure designer. I'm not a label lover; I love quality, but won't buy faux leather, mass manufactured goods anymore.

Yes! Cannot do faux leather at all anymore. Whether its designer or not, just can't do it. It's all about quality of leather for me. I don't really care about the name.

Like many others here, after I bought my first LV, I couldn't buy a contemporary brand or a no designer bag.
I feel like I'm wasting my money cause the time I would spend using that bag, a nicer bag would be sitting in its dust bag.

Exactly ! I'm changing my bags often and figured out, that I'm using my Non-Designers more often.
And I'm thinking I'm wasting my money buying senstive, more nonpractical Designer bags

I have and use both. But the more designer bags I get, I think I am using the non-designer ones less. Probably because I have gotten something similar in a designer brand so the non-designer ones are getting replaced.

YES!!!! As a matter of fact I went to my storage unit and had a box full of Guess, Nine West and Kathy Van Zeeland bags. Donated them all to a charity. I remember loving them all at some time but could not even considerate these purchases now. I did save a couple which I like and use during bad weather situations or if I am going to an area where carrying a designer bag is too dangerous and garners unwanted attention

my non designer bag is actually a fake leather bag which i bought in hk for 40 hkd

its my travelling bag.. hhahaha

i dont use it for work or to go out with.. just for travelling.. it can handle scratches

It's silly, but it hurts me teeny bit inside, lol. I have been traveling a lot recently and using a Claire Vivier satchel--which is a perfectly nice bag, objectively speaking!--but I'm longing to go back to my LV or Miu Miu or Fendi or... :) They just give me a happy little feeling.

I pretty much have a strict policy of only buying vintage bags - pretty much only bonnie cashin and bottega veneta, but I also have a morris moskowitz evening bag from the '50s, and a Roberta di Camerino purse.

The other day though I saw some very cute bags by an independent designer in a local boutique - I've forgotten the designer name - but the bags were very good quality and well priced! I still didn't take the plunge and buy one though - instead I splurged on another vintage BV yesterday.

On the other hand I am not a fan of some premium designers - don't like Chanel, LV or Prada bags.

Would I buy a bag from say, jcrew, roots, gap or something like that? Unfortunately..... I am too snobby for that, which is completely my problem - and I sometimes also worry about the workers/manufacturing conditions in the places where those bags are made.

I don't own any non-designer bags, I just don't seem to find any that I really love. However, I don't buy designer bags very often either. I use those that I have and love/enjoy them a lot!!
