Does anyone feel like VCA is everywhere now?

I may be among the minority that actually enjoy seeing VCA being worn by more people recently, and am excited when seeing pieces out in the wild!

I just love seeing people with pretty clothes and accessories, which is part of the reason why I like coming on tPF so much and seeing all the action pics.

As someone who admittedly has a lot of VCA and a good amount of that in the Alhambra line, I do sometimes wonder if I have too much of it. But that is not in relation to seeing it become more ”common”, rather just from the perspective of building a good collection.

It would be a test of VCA’s strength of design to see whether through over-exposure it becomes (to quote others on this thread) “another Tiffany’s”, or like some have said, it remains coveted like Hermes.

I feel like Tiffany has a much larger inventory assortment...so many more lines and designers. When I look at VCA, it's a short venture.

Me too, because people are appreciating the craftsmanship and it’s nice to see. People are wanting the nicer things in life and there’s nothing wrong with that. In that, though, I definitely stir away from the stereotypical YG MoP vintage sizes and prefer to go with WG in the Alhambra line as it’s a lot different. E.g. I never see anyone with WG guilloiche so I went for that instead.

VCA still is down-low and isn’t as known, you can see from their social media following whilst having such a long history. I checked their following yesterday on IG and it’s around 2 million whereas Cartier, Tiffany, etc. have around 15 million followers.

I'm currently in a master program and I see Cartier everywhere lol. Many of my classmates own at least a love ring, some have multiple love bracelets. However so far I have only seen one WMOP pendant worn by a girl
I see Cartier everywhere, for reals. VCA? Not so much, I’ve seen a few older women have VCA in high-end restaurants, other than that I see Cartier almost everywhere. I think it’s because of the Kardashians, people like James Charles, etc. Influencers have influenced people to go with Cartier, however it’s so rare to see influencers have VCA. The only one I’ve seen is Tati Westbrook with her Perlee stack and even then, no one knows she’s wearing $100k on her wrists!

I see much more Cartier in my area too! VCA sightings were more prevalent here in the early 2000's,not all of which were authentic. Regardless, I think we should all wear what we love and what brings us joy.

Nowadays,NBA basketball players especially the Lakers e.g LeBron James is starting a male wearing clover 5 motif bracelets trend. A pilot on YouTube has a bracelet too.

That's why I think more and more will collect vca. But I will try to find my style using mix and match method and not just stick to Alhambra, Frivole or perlee. It will take a long time to build but it brings joy when the collection is complete.

I agree, it doesn’t matter if everyone has something. If everyone has a YG MoP vintage Alhambra, go for a YG MoP magic Alhambra. There’s ways around it if you want to have something different

I’m just hoping they collect the 5 motifs and not the Perlee or 10/20 motifs or 5 motifs with different colors, or 6 motif magic necklaces, etc. because those are already a struggle!

Even Drake and a lot of other male singers and athletes have 20 motifs now. I live in a Yacht Club community and I have the most VCA (a lot of 20m and earrings across the VCA collections). Most women here have high end Cartier, Bulgari, and a lot of South Sea/Tahitian pearls and large diamonds. I have the latter two but I really stand out in this crowd with VCA - so much so that a few women have come to me at the Club and told me they were going to buy VCA now. It’s funny how we influence others wearing these pieces. I did not tell them that they have a tough road ahead because they all have to schedule an appointment and get on a plane to see anything in person, if it’s even available.

I've noticed recently in my country that in addition to cheaper stores, even reputable large jewelry chains are selling jewelry with the Alhambra motif. Clearly they wouldn't sell jewelry with, say, a Louis Vuitton logo, but since the Alhambra is not a logo, it's not seen as an issue even though the jewelry clearly looks like a dupe. I guess the Alhambra motif is seen as a general jewelry shape instead of something linked to the VCA brand.
