Does anyone feel like VCA is everywhere now?

I’m based in Hong Kong and working in CBD area, where I see lots of Hermes and VCA and Cartier on daily basis….a casual walk in those malls can see like 3-5 birkins, a bunch of woman wearing clover like design (VCA or fake) or Cartier bangle….it doesn’t change my love to pieces I already have but I sort of wear my clover bangle more as I usuall my see ppl with the 5 motif bracelet so the blue agate bracelet and grey mop and diamond alternating bracelet has been tucked away…..but the other reason could be a gold bangle is simply easier to match with different outfit than coloured stone

Yes!!! I only have/had pieces from the vintage Alhambra collection. I have sold most of my necklaces. I had two 10 motifs which I used to connect together and the 6 motif magic with the white, gray MOP and onyx. When I sold them they were everywhere. (thank you Real Housewife franchise!! :cursing: ) I've only kept my single motif earrings and ring. I am no longer into the multi motif, I like the paired down pieces. I am looking to get a single MOP pendant soon.

A year ago I would have said no it’s really just sm. But these days I’ve seen enough irl whether or not they’re fake and it’s made me feel very meh about some of the vca lines - more specifically alhambra and perlee. I went on Etsy and saw multiple sellers selling replicas including the new wg guilloche and frivole earrings and pendants.

I know anything that becomes popular gets replicated eventually. But it also means it’s become or is becoming basic. Of course something basic can still be classic like a Chanel cf, but it’s something that now appeals to the masses. Personally, with some limited exceptions, I don’t like to have something popular and that’s just my personal opinion.

The prices I find are also hard to swallow after their increases. I get these are hand crafted but thinking about price point and number of diamonds and amount of gold or in some cases the actual cost of onyx or mop, I’d rather spend my funds on something else.

I just got into the 10 motif. Lol.

I still love my 5 motif bracelets, my fave! I sold all my pendants.

However, i am quite done with VCA, at least for now, i will simply enjoy what I have Maybe they are getting too common for my liking. I have now moved to Chaumet and Buccellati..
I love the look of the bracelets. I'm always in long sleeves so there is no point. I'm super jealous of people wearing them because they look so beautiful on the wrist.

Omg I love Buccellati. I hope they don't blow up like VCA, although the brand seems to becoming quite popular in Asia in the recent years, particular the opera collection

Chain bracelets like a 5 motif can definitely be worn under long sleeves. Sure, other people won’t see them much, but I love seeing my bracelet any time I pull my sleeves up to wash my hands. A stack of bangles might not be very comfy under long sleeves though.

I wear short sleeves rarely (I have long sleeves even in warm weather for sun protection) and I wear my bracelet 24/7/365. I love it so much I just ordered another.

I see ads for it everywhere in HK now. Thinking of adding a pair haha! I have not seen anywhere wearing the pieces yet though. Whereas Alhambra is very common here.

I love that Buccellati is understated. I feel i am paying for the workmanship, the technique. They are also now under Richemont (considered sister brand to vca and cartier now?) So i feel more assured in putting my $ there. I love the look of the Opera collection, but i have too much alhambra to add the Opera.

I love the Tulle collection but the price points, ugh..

I was searching for a perfect YG bangle, i tried to love Cartier Love or JIC, tried 2 or 3 x in store. I just couldnt.. too loud and the mirrored finished is not for me. Also i wont be able to stomach the scratches

Though common, i still love mg VCA alhambra motifs and perlee. I jus wont be buying anymore atm as I dont lust for more from them.

Yeah my relatives in Asia be telling me the same thing! I heard it started off with some high profile celebs in mainland China wearing them, and now a ton of people are talking about this brand on xiao hong shu/red book. They have some unique and intricate designs, definitely worth looking into!

This bracelet is gorgeous. I am definitely going to check out the stores since there is a bunch of them in HK and I am running out of things to buy at VCA that I love. I do feel Alhambra is over done here and the opera tulle is a good alternative/complement.

Oxford definition of basic:
Forming an essential foundation or starting point, fundamental.
When did that become a bad thing? Basic is something necessary and fundamental to my wardrobe. I wear some vca practically everyday and almost every piece I own can be worn with t-shirt, jeans, sweats, business casual or dressy. Basic is useful and practical. That not only works for me but at these prices is a requirement. So I will stick with these “basic” and beautiful VCA pieces regardless of who else is wearing them. What does that have to do with me anyway? I am not one not to wear something just because someone else has the same thing. Millions of women have diamond studs. I’m not going to stop wearing mine because you have yours on.

Preach!! I recently saw a reel where Style Hard called women who wear Baccarat Rouge “basic *****es,” which I find to be extremely rude. Loads of women wear VCA, Cartier, Hermes, Chanel. Now that is “basic”?! To me, they are classic and timeless. I will rock my pieces regardless since the majority of people are actually not wearing all of these anyway. Maybe in certain circles, not in every one.
