Hi doc, I am considering to get a tri color kelly 32. But the the leather in the edge of the corner is of some concern. Do u think I can polish and smoothen it with conditioner? As to other scratch sign on the surface, can conditioner polishing will help?
What do you think? I have a k28 1972, by not condition is better.... want to hear you view, pls. Love box...

Dear Decride, I have read so much of this thread, and want to thank you for all the valuable input you are able to provide here!
I am considering purchasing a preloved Kelly 35 Gold, Togo Leather. It is from 2015. However, when I look at the edges of the bag I see what appears to be cracking but likely the grains of the togo leather at the edges above the stitching. I am wondering if this is considered 'normal' or as a result of insufficient sealing of the edges, and whether this will be problematic in the future? I don't want to purchase this only to find out there is an inherent problem with this bag. Thank you in advance!
this is the thread AND if you read it you will see that DocRide now STRONGLY ADVISES against this treatment
Hello. I have a black box birkin on its way to me and was wondering where on this thread I can find the "blackrock/ obenauf" treatment. I'd like to use the bag daily and want to waterproof. Thanks![]()

Thanks for the reply doc, would you consider 2006 box calf as vintage? And what would you recommend me to use for the cleaning and conditioning? Thanks!
Hi there
You answered your own question [emoji106][emoji6]
There isn't anything wrong with the edges there isn't any cracking it's simply the cut grains you are seeing. All is well[emoji304]
Doc
Hello
It's no longer recommended
There are much better easier products to use
Is your bag vintage or dry?
All the best doc
It is 2002 black box. It is in very good condition from what I saw and am told. It will arrive Wednesday. Just wanted to waterproof it a bit in case of a sprinkle. Not intending to soak it though... any recommendations on a kit? Thanks [emoji1317]
Thank you for your reassurance, and for your incredible assistance throughout this thread !!![]()
Hi again
As for normal use light scratches on the surface conditioning and polish will usually make them less noticeable you are correct .[emoji106][emoji1]
