Hello
The dingy areas you mention are more likely wear and color loss type changes from rubbing against your skin
Not something to try and clean so dont use those wipes
Beware of conditioners and many cleansers as they'll more than likely make those areas look worse and or darker afterward

I say don't muck with it and enjoy wearing it

Put your bracelet down and look at it from 3 ft away looks great right?
Well that's how it looks or better to on lookers when you are wearing it

All is well and lucky you to have such a beautifully colored Hermes bracelet!

All the best doc
Thank you doc for your sage advice. I will leave well enough alone and enjoy my CDC as it is.

Oh dear ! That's funny
It is rare
Yes you can treat it as a semifinished leather which is
A natural leather with a light finish

Yes I would think the patina will continue deeper and deeper in future

Much like this bag which i pushed the patina on in my workshop recently

All the best doc

Oh my, that is more than beautiful.

Do you think, I could do the same? The handles would maybe blend better in. I have no idea how to do this, though.

Hi there
It's actually not that easy to do because you never know what you are going to get
But with conditioning and time it should head that direction slowly
Why not see how it looks in real life and let me know?

Yes, I will do that. Thank you so much!!

It will take a few days until it is here, and the seller has a return policy, so I also have to finally decide whether I am keeping the bag (I doubt, I will return it).

Hello.
I just bought a very lovely vintage Kelly from 1997. The bag seems to be in pristine condition for a vintage but has some scratches under the handle. Do you think they will blend more in to the bag as it ages? Or is it something that can be done to make them less noticable?
I would also love you opinion on what kind of leather this is? The invoice from BrandOff says that it is veau box, but it does not look like box calf.
Hope you can help me:)

Dear doc
I have received my bag and tried putting on some saphir universal cream on the inner handle and the inside flap and buffed it off to just try it out. But I've noticed these the inner part of the handle is a lot smoother than the rest of the bag and there's a little chip at the edge, almost as if it had been painted over.

I'm worried because if it has had work done i IMG_1497035597.289122.jpgwouldn't be able to get Hermes to refurbish it in the future.
I have also noticed these spots on the inner flap. It also looks as if it has been painted.

Please let me know! Thank you

Looks like Vache Espace which is similar to Vache Naturelle but has larger pores

Natural leathers do not do well with color touch ups

Rather they should be embraced in their distressed and unique patinas.

You can clean and condition it and enjoy it and allow it to continue its journey toward Full Monty patina

Cleaning won't remove the dark areas keep that in mind .

What do you think ?

I think it's cool!

All the best doc

Dear Doc,
the bag arrived and it's definitely a keeper! The patina is fine, the main thing do do is cleaning.

The bag is much dirtier than I thought.

I started cleaning the smaller parts (the clochette), but I am not sure whether I have the best products for it. I am using glycerine soap for the Vache Espace which removes some but not all dirt, and I have nothing for the red lamb interior (the glycerine soap would remove the color and no idea what I can use for it).

What should I best use for cleaning, could you give me a recommendation? It is as though the bag was stored for a long time without dustbag.

Thanks a lot!

Doc, I have just recently purchased a new Togo Birkin and realised that there is a small dot on the leather which appear a bit whitish to silver in colour. I have attached a photo below. Do you know if this is normal for Togo leather or if it is a defect? Many thanks.
