Hi there
Some conditioner should help
It looks like it will look much better afterward
I doubt you'll need to do any color work
A cleaning off of old polish , deep conditioning and finishing with a protective lotion or a nice neutral polish and buffing out should be sufficient for a vintage Kelly
All the best doc
Dear Doc, could you please recommend some commercial products for the steps? (Cleaning, deep condition, and protective lotion/neutral polish) The kit I was looking at may take a while to arrive is quite expensive to buy with express shipping to my location and I wanted to treat my kelly as soon she arrives (in a day or two) so that I could use her. From the posts I've read I was thinking
Cleaning off polish- Lexol cleaning wipes
Deep condition - Saphir Renovating cream (as Blackrock is not accessible in the UK)
Possible colour touch up on scuffed corners - Saphir Hermes Red - should I use this before deep conditioning? Or not do the deep conditioning step or polishing step at all if using Saphir Hermes Red?
Protecting - not quite sure.....? Obenauf is not available in the UK either.
Could you please let me know if the above is right/wrong? Also, could you also please let me know when to use a polishing brush/cloth? I understand that I ought to apply the products very very sparingly and its always easier to add to the polish than to clean it away. TIA!

Hello,
Do not use blackrock or obenaufs I do not recommend these products

You are fine with the Saphir line
Saphir should have a cleaner please pass on the lexol cleansing wipes they'll not lift if old polish
Everything else seems in order
Condition first then apply color touch ups to corners
Then a neutral polish
Then the brush then the bugging cloth
Ok?
All the best doc

Good morning !

I'm got this vintage Kelly lately which I realised there is a crack on it. I'm just wondering if my case is very serious of leather dryness . Will there be any chance that moisturing the leather will help ?

Thanks in advance:heart:

Hello,
Wow it's beautiful! Congratulations ! That's a very special !
In this case and only in this case for this leather you can use weather protection type products
I'm not sure what products are available in AU
Can you get Aqua seal?
All the best doc

Note>>folks this is only for this leather type in this instance it's not a globally accepted product for every leather
Thank you

Thank you doc! I googled and Saphir Renomat, Saphir Universal Cream and Woly Creme Essentielle came up. Could you please let me know if any of these would work? From the hangerproject website Saphir Renomat sounds the most effective.
As for the neutral polish I have found several and only know the following about them from the hangerproject website, could you please advise me on which one I should use?:
Saphire Pommedier: Same line as the Saphir Hermes Red, more "matte finish"
Saphir Pate De Luxe Wax: More shine?
Saphir Beaute De Cuir: Softer shine compared to the Pate De Luxe Wax
TIA!

Yes that's the one test it on a small hidden area first it might darken a bit but it might lighten after a few hours so test and wait a few hours and see if your happy with it
Good luck
Doc
Awesome !!!! I will give it a go, I will keep you posted.
This shouldn't have any impact if I want to take her to Hermes Spa?

Just go with the universal cream follow directions allow it to dry and buff with a soft cloth
That should be enough
Good luck

Do you mean Saphir universal cream for cleaner and buffing after the colour touch up step without a neutral polish? Or use the universal cream also as a polish? Sorry for the ongoing stream of questions, I just wanted to be 100% sure what to do without making costly assumption. Thank you so much doc!

I'm sorry I'm getting a bit burnt out
I can recommend every other product except my own line which Has predosed products and step by step instructions to take you through a whole restoration I might add this is frustrating forgive me

Leather cleaner or skip because many conditioners can lift off old polish
Conditioner choose one any of those mentioned could work here
Color touch up to corners
You should be about to buff the bag out to a nice sheen without a neutral polish step see how it goes

Good luck
