Do you wear your designer bag to work/interviews?

Yes, I would and I have. I had a LV Monogram Speedy and I got the job. Of course, they desperately needed nurses, but I don`t think my bag would be an issue in any situation.

depends on the bag, but i definetly would if it matches the outfit no one really notices your bag anyway but i think it will make you feel good carrying one of your cherished handbags

I just carried my Chanel reissue tote to an interview last week. No problem, but its not a flashy Chanel. For public interest law I'd play it down, but for anything else I would wear an MJ. Frankly I think an MJ would be fine for public interest as well, its not like a logod bag, but you should wear what makes you comfortable and the bag that looks the most professional. Maybe some of this depends on where you live, I'm in DC and I know for sure that wearing a designer bag to a , DC, NYC or Miami interview would be fine.

I don't think it should matter what bring you bag. But unfortunately everything matters.

I would bring one, but something subtle. I wouldn't bring a monogram LV or Coach or something. I think a Chanel Flap wouldn't be so bad though.

I would and I have. I'm an attorney myself and here in New York City most attorneys are extremely well dressed and for want of a better word, expensive-looking. It's part of the image for a succesful Partner or up-and-coming Associate, a sort of uniform for lawyers. Of course, public interest law may be different than working in a large law firm environment......

oh wow this just reminded me. I have an interview tomorrow and have to change my bag. I've been carrying a bright purple hobo, which I don't think would be appropriate. lol So I'm going to have to change to something else.

Would, have and will :smile1: I don't have any logo bags, but I did carry my Dior gaucho which is probably somewhat recognizable ... otherwise I would take my Mulberry Bayswater or a black Balenciaga, both very 'neutral' and definitely non-blingy.

yes I would, but nothing with flashy logos, e.g. LV mono is a no go, but epi or suhali would be perfectly fine since few people recognize designers with no logos here. why no mono? people might be biased seeing you wearing obvious designer (spoiled, show-off etc.), or think it's fake (and consequently think bad about you). I couldn't care less in everyday life, but job is something different... then again I would carry Hermès and other non branded bags here. if the person interviewing you knows it there are good chances they might like bags too lol

I used my purple BE Enchant Me for my interview today... I'm not in a high professional business world though; teachers have a bit more fashion flexibility! Thankfully!

I don't carry anything above a mid-range designer bag to interviews, and try to keep even those to ones that are not overly identifiable. I'm always afraid to have a better bag than the woman who's interviewing me. This is because I once had an interviewer make a big deal about my bag, but it was not meant in a nice way. She said something like, "Oh, great bag. Seems really expensive..." It was kind of like she meant that I didn't need the job because I could afford a designer bag. Of course, I didn't get that job. Maybe because of the bag, maybe not, but since then, I go non-identifiable.
