Here are some pics of the Tom Bihn zippered shop bag. I like this over the Longchamp, because there is a side pocket for a water bottle. The material is halcyon which will be water resistant. I added the cute zipper pull tassels.

I tried to show how much room a B30’s handles have “to spare.” There is no squishing of the handles at all. I also snapped a pic of the packing cube inside as well.

Is it small size or the large size? How much room are there at the top for the handles? I have a B35 and am wondering if it would fit. TIA

Sitting in Airport lounge heading to Barcelona.Tpm evie nests in PM evie which sit in LV Palmero. I like to be 100% hands free so I don’t travel with B. K32 and Jypsiere also fit in here- not together. I put the K in dustbag . I also travel with DS 45 as my carryon tote and never had a problem.

It’s the large. If you check out the dimensions of the small it won’t even fit a B30. I don’t own a B35 so I don’t know the dimensions. I just know people use an LV Neverfull GM and this bag is a bit wider. If you can tell be the height of a b35 I can give you an idea...

I recently got a new travel "birkin protector" bag. Tom Bihn came out with a zip top version of the shop bag it fits a B30 perfect with room to spare. I think it would fit a B35 even. Dimensions are 15" (w) x 13.4" (h) x 11.8" (d). I use a packing cube shoulder bag for odds and ends and then the side pockets for a water bottle and snacks. I travel with my small fur baby now so I need a water bowl, a small container or treats/food, leash and small blanket. this fits all of that plus 2 iPads. I carry DH's iPad and he carries my main carry on! Deal!!

Thanks for posting this "bag protector". Looks to be the prefect size and super light to carry on the shoulder. I planned on getting a new backpack but this might be a better option for me!:flowers:

The height including the handles is around 45cm/18in. Thanks for checking it out!

Weren’t Birkins and plumes actually designed by Hermes specifically for travel?
I thought that the Birkin was supposedly created specifically for Jane Birkin after the contents of her basket bag spilled on the floor while she was sitting next to Mr Dumas on a flight back home.
And the plume design was based on travellers blanket bags. ( perfect for my travel shawls!) anyone here remembers the date and the full story?

It’s hard to get an exact height because the zip top makes a dome. I measured w/ a b30 and there is 2-2 1/2 inches from the top. The b30 is about 13 1/2- 14in tall depending on slouch.

I ordered the dawn color which is ballistic and this fabric doesn’t mold as much as the halcyon fabrics. This would be like epsom compared to Clemance leathers. I also ordered the island halcyon and it’s really pretty! I’m sending the dawn back.

Thanks for sharing! I have been seeing these at airports, and your post prompted me to go order one. I am thinking this would be good as an extra overflow bag in case I am juggling several laptops etc. I will say I love Tom Binh and have one of their carry on which has been used weekly for the past 8 or so years and looks brand new. I just looked it up, and the bag is only $300, which is honestly amazing (sorry — not an ad for those guys, but since we are talking...)

I would definitely order the Halcyon material and not Ballistic, Ballistic is incredibly tough and thick and probably way more than what most people need.

I am actually not too precious with my Hermes bags — I just don’t have the right lifestyle to worry about them; I obviously try not to, you know, stain them etc, but that’s pretty much it. I travel almost every week and generally being a Garden Party for work travel since it fits my laptop and various odds and ends perfectly without being too flashy; plus something like a Massai if I am likely to spend the weekend / have time to go out etc. I am more adventurous with personal travel though.

I'm headed out on a trip tomorrow and will take my chevre Kelly 28 in its dustbag, inside a large Tumi bag that is basically a Le Pliage with a roller sleeve. This way I can also have my iPad, Kindle, camera, and liquids bag with me; this bag will go under the seat and my Rimowa roller will go in the overhead bin. (I never check bags.)
The Kelly is a great bag for running around European cities.

I wholeheartedly agree with @QuelleFromage 's comment. My K32 has always been my go-to European travel bag. Likewise I keep her in the dustbag, inside an extra-large long champ duffle for the plane. But....now she has her K28 little sister to compete with ! Sis will be taking her maiden voyage in Europe for the next month! :giggle:
