Thanks for the advice! That reminds me that I do have two envirosax somewhere in the closet!!!

I have used them to slip my Kelly into as it is put into the bin at the airport to go through the scanner when I am not taking a tote bag. I keep the bag in it until I get to the destination. They come in very handy! Where I live, they no longer give out shopping bags for free at the grocery/drug store, so very handy to keep rolled up in the handbag:smile1:

Thanks for the tip! And same here, we have to bring our own grocery bags to the stores. Gonna dig out those envirosax as soon as my boys sleep tonight

After weeks of vacation planning I've finally got our adventures all sorted out and I've been spending the morning "researching" the most important stop on our upcoming Paris trip, my first visit to FSH! I was thinking of leaving Lady B (black, togo, 35B) at home but reading through the travel threads convinced me to bring her. I've got an envirosax to keep her clean and safe, and even though we'll be traveling with our 2 boys (and it's not the lightest or most convenient of handbags) I really have always dreamed of visiting Paris with my beloved Birkin on my arm. So she's coming. Any tips on traveling around Paris, with kids, with Lady B?

My other question for my fellow H fans is about visiting FSH, and I read through the shopping FSH threads which only confused me more. I'm hoping to bring home some scarves and shawls, I'm all set in the bag department. Can we just walk in and browse around if we aren't interested in bags? Or do we need to wait on line? Is there a separate line for scarves and bags? I have a wish list (fingers crossed for L'instruction du Roy or Promenade du Matin!) and that is my goal for the trip, but I would like to check out jewelry and MAYBE take a peek at a Jypsiere 31. But would I need to wait or can I ask the SA in scarves about a bag?

Many, many thanks for any info. It's been 15 years since I've been to Paris, so needless to say I have a LOT of years to catch up on! Cheers!

There's only a line at FSH for bags. There are lots of SAs available to help you with other items in different departments just like any other boutique. Have fun and good luck!

Suggestion: if you really want those scarves and they are not available in stores: they are up on the French website. Above 100€ (who are they kidding, do they even have something below 100€) free shipping. Within Paris, you will get it at the next day, they can send it to your Hotel.

But I hope you get lucky at the store, because of the experience, memory and last but nor least: store-scented CSGM are .
Good luck

Definitely looking to get a scarf in the store, my 13 yo gave me a "coupon" for my birthday good for 1 free complaint and whine free visit to any Hermes store (they get dragged into one anytime we're on vaca), so I'm definitely going to collect on FSH!

LVChelseaGirl, I would recommend to visit as well the store at rue de Sèvres. It is much quieter and you could walk around browsing the store peacefully. I find shopping at rue de Sèvres is more enjoyable than at FSH.

Rue de Sevres definitely on our list, I've shown the boy photos of the store and they think it is the coolest place ever. Do they also have scarves there? I was thinking it was furniture and homeware.

I think the boys will enjoy it more accompanying you to rue de Sèvres than to FSH.
Because it's more quite there the SAs have more time to show and let you try different scarves. They have scarves, bags, accessories, jewelries too. Not only furnitures and homeware...
The store is located near le Bon Marché and there is a section there selling gadgets that your boys may like. My son (15y) always drag me there when he is shopping with me at le Bon Marché and he bought himself a refurbished polaroid camera.

Planning to travel on a business trip with a B or K for the first time (usually other h bags)

Only plan to take 1. Which would you take - a B35 Epsom or a K35 Togo?

Generally gravitate to K35 but only the B35 fits iPad.

Thoughts?

I would worry about the b35's corners bumping into people or things, and corner wear shows really really fast on Epsom. I took my k32 Epsom on a trip and one of the corners were already 'peeled' literally, and It's kiwi- not happy!
