PHEW!!! Her actions must have been recorded by the inflight cameras had there been damages to your carryon :p ooops for her^^^

Nothing against different ppl, just do not come near me:upsidedown: I will run the other way :giggles:

Honestly, we've travelled many different ways, even backpacked for fun, but private is the only way to travel for long distance :::throws prudent and pratical methods out the window w/ no chute lol:::

^^^Thank you dear... It was OK, I have inspected it immediately. I just don't understand it either. Some people are just....well- different.

I've done that before, re: put it in my luggage and locking it, leaves room...

DH would say: 'they could just take the whole luggage' LOL!
Me: now :panic::cray::pullhair::wtf: oy^

Yes, you could say that. Some are very different, imbecills:laugh::laugh:

OT, I travel with my H bags and I have never worried too much about it. I also leave them in my Hotel room without worrying. Maybe I should worry, lol?

Me too, never again, may all the pfers' trees grow high :ty:

re:superstition
I just know, no red color wallets/checkbooks or you will be in the red :nuke::death::nuke:

Thank you! I will now never do that again. May my tree grow tall:p

... Also, I am a little superstitious, and one should never put the handbag on the ground- as it is said that " your money will fly away..."

My husband sits next to me and he knows the drill. He's trained so well that he watches my bags more carefully then I do! And is the first to point out a sighting if he sees someone else with anything H.

audreylita- and what do you do when he doesn't travel w you? Because that was my case here. my husband is well trained by now too (and he too spots most of the H!!!!! LOL LOL LOL :D) BUT- he was not there.

My routine does not vary. Kelly (mostly because of the should strap) goes into the tote in the dust bag along with book, sweater, small electronics and make-up. I hang the tote on my carry-on luggage (Rimowa cabin trolley) and that is it. Tote goes on the floor under the seat in front of me. No issues, problems and I know exactly where my H is. I don't carry a handbag as the tote, according to airline rules, acts as my personal item. I rarely pack a second bag in the carry-on, but if I do it is a Kelly clutch,Jige or small Chanel.

Varvara: Since we are up in the air and above ground, I am going to say that my bag is not technically "on the ground.":p

I am totally compulsive when it comes to my bags--and they look it.
I'd love to have a beautiful bag on arrival, but I refuse to put in a suitcase (squashed, stolen, or damaged-something always spills, so take your choice) and the notion of putting it through security on one of those dirty trays and having it manhandled or squashed up against someone else's baggage is decidedly unpleasant. Then what do you do with the bag once you're on the plane--put it under the seat, and what if there's stuff on the floor or someone spills there drink, and how do you even put it under the seat without scrunching it up?
Bottom line, I've never brought one with but I'd like to.
If someone could talk me through this and give me any thoughts or suggestions, I would be most appreciative.

poodlgrl,

I was reading your post when I was boarding my flight, so I had to chuckle at the coincidence. I just put my B35 in a large tote to protect it through security, and placed the tote under the seat in front of me. I have to say it was timely, because before the flight I suspected a child? had an "accident" on the flight before, because the seats in front of me had a faint whiff of urine. If I was on the flight before that without any protection for my bags, I would go crazy.

So far we haven't traveled apart but I would take them with me solo, no problem.

Wow, I am breathless at the treatment of your H bag by the flight attendant, Varvara. And in Business class no less. That leaves me speechless. Wow. I am so sorry to hear that.

I too have a couple Le Pliages for rain and as a 'Birkin' protector for air travel/through security, etc. I found out there is an extra-large one which fits my SB which makes me so happy. The biggest issue is when I am out for the evening with only a clutch--I have to try to hide my larger B in the luggage (er, pardon), unfortunately often below dirty clothing...as it always seems that I have to leave the bag in the room around turn-down time. And generally the safe is just not large enough for a larger H bag. That's my dilemma, anyway. Perhaps I need to find hotels with larger in-room safes. Occasionally I have requested no turn-down service for that very reason. And I usually check in to the hotel with the Le Pliage over/covering my H bag so that my room number is not associated with high-value items. Gah, seems a bit overkill-- covert espionage!:p

Question: what do you recommend for a 35cm Birkin-the large or extra large pliage.
Thank you!

How cute! A well-trained husband. Boyfriend's and Hermes. Now that's a topic that needs a thread of its' own. Not nearly so understanding. Horrified would be a better word.

I taught him from basic ABC. One handle is a kelly, two handles is a birkin. He's always so proud of himself when he spots and names one correctly. He's learning some of the other names now as well.

And the gifts I've gotten him over the years? He keeps them diligently stored in their proper orange boxes in his drawers. He has the space in his drawers. I don't. If I kept every H in its original box, then I'd be sleeping in my driveway.

I just got the one that has the zipper in the center so you can use it regular size or unzip it to be extra tall which easily accommodates a 35 cm B. It's getting its trial run in 2 weeks.

OMG! This made me laugh. Thank you!

gracekelly,

offtopic but I absolutely love Rimowa. My only gripe is that it doesn't fit as much because of the hardshell. Having traveled with the Birkin thus far I have to say sometimes I wish I had a Kelly instead because being hands-free is easier sometimes, although it doesn't fit as much.
