Do you travel with your H bag?

^^^Thank you dear... It was OK, I have inspected it immediately. I just don't understand it either. Some people are just....well- different.
Yes, you could say that. Some are very different, imbecills:laugh::laugh:

OT, I travel with my H bags and I have never worried too much about it. I also leave them in my Hotel room without worrying. Maybe I should worry, lol?

You should start freaking out dear!!!!:laugh: better start taking your own vault while travelling :graucho: LOL

I also travel with my Bs, I put them in another cover up bag when going through security. I may put it in the cabin compartment at taking off/landing. But when I am airborne, it's either under or by the seat with me, in the cover up bag.

I travel with my Bolide. I am careful not to squish her on the plane, but don't use any protectors (I also have no problem putting her on the floor in a car or a restaurant though...). In the hotel I lock her up in a suitcase when I'm not using her. I don't worry too much about people mishandling her, but I think it helps that the Bolide is under the radar compared to the Birkin or Kelly

I travel with all my H bags. Even Crocs. I always have a GM cashmere on me so I just wrap the bag in it when it goes through security.
I do the same for take off and landing when it needs to be stored in the above head locker.

However, I once had a bad experience. One business class female fly-attendant took the bag (she was too fast for me to intervene) and literally threw it inside with such a spite- I could not believe my eyes. I never flaunt my bags and never say how much they are worth etc.but this time I just looked at her and said "This bag should not be handled like this, and you must know it. It is worth 35 thousand." And she knew. She did it on purpose. You could just tell.

OMG that's awful! People are sometimes so mean and spiteful. With an attitude like that, she shouldn't be working business class, let alone in a service industry.

That's a great idea!

I recently travelled with a 30 cm birkin and 35 cm kelly, using one and keeping the other in an Hermes Feu2Dou travel bag. They fit perfectly under the seat and I protected the one going through x-ray laying it on top of my blazer.

At the suggestion of wise tPFers, I just purchased a Longchamp Le Pilage and am going to give that a shot on my next trip. I got the expandable tall one so it could fit a 35 cm birkin if necessary. The Le Pilage is not as sturdy as the Feu2Dou but no one touches my bags except me so there's no worries about anything going anywhere it shouldn't.

I started this thread because I was afraid to travel with any H bags and have been increasingly taking more and larger with each trip.

This is the exact reason I would never fly with an exotic B exposed! Not because it isn't suitable for travel, but because some people are so malicious. If I ever had an exotic B, I'd conceal it in another bag on the plane and put it under the seat where no attendant would ever touch it!!!

^^^She was way too fast, as I wrote. When traveling, I usually settle in my seat and wait for the rest of my travel companions to fill in the seats next to me. Once the plane is more quiet, I stand up and place it in the dust bag/GM cashmere, storing it in the above head locker. I never place it under the seat, as either I, or the person sitting behind me can kick it (if, for example there is a man w longer legs). Also, I am a little superstitious, and one should never put the handbag on the ground- as it is said that " your money will fly away..."

This woman clearly wanted to throw it there, she didn't even give me time to bling, she grabbed it and just threw it there. People sitting around me were surprised too, as they had seen how angry I got, one older lady even commented on it.

I travel a lot, in all different kinds of planes-never happened to me before, or after for that matter. And I am sure she knew exactly what she was doing, as I travel first/business class all the time when not flying private, and these attendants know very well what a Hermés Birkin is. They had seen plenty of them, especially working on flights to London, Paris or New York.

Thank you! I will now never do that again. May my tree grow tall:p

My husband sits next to me and he knows the drill. He's trained so well that he watches my bags more carefully then I do! And is the first to point out a sighting if he sees someone else with anything H.

How cute! A well-trained husband. Boyfriend's and Hermes. Now that's a topic that needs a thread of its' own. Not nearly so understanding. Horrified would be a better word.

Wow, I am breathless at the treatment of your H bag by the flight attendant, Varvara. And in Business class no less. That leaves me speechless. Wow. I am so sorry to hear that.

I too have a couple Le Pliages for rain and as a 'Birkin' protector for air travel/through security, etc. I found out there is an extra-large one which fits my SB which makes me so happy. The biggest issue is when I am out for the evening with only a clutch--I have to try to hide my larger B in the luggage (er, pardon), unfortunately often below dirty clothing...as it always seems that I have to leave the bag in the room around turn-down time. And generally the safe is just not large enough for a larger H bag. That's my dilemma, anyway. Perhaps I need to find hotels with larger in-room safes. Occasionally I have requested no turn-down service for that very reason. And I usually check in to the hotel with the Le Pliage over/covering my H bag so that my room number is not associated with high-value items. Gah, seems a bit overkill-- covert espionage!:p
