Which is why I never travel through the airport, or put my bags through security, in the open. I always tuck them in their dustbags and put them either in my carry on luggage or in a tote. One, I think a lot of crooks/scammers hang out at airports, so attracting attention is not a good thing, and I also think bags are better protected if in their dustbags in other bags when going through those scanners. Just got back from Florence/Tuscany and my K28 sellier once again made the trip with me.
This was my plan for our trip in February as it will be the first time flying with my Kelly 28. Thanks for the advice. I don’t want to leave it at home but don’t want the paranoia of the scanner. My husband tends to be terrible at keeping an eye on my bag when I send him through first.

I also think keeping the purses in either carryon luggage or duffels have typically been the least hassle; and I'll stick all my jewelry in a small pouch in there as well. Although, I did get checked once and my K28 was taken out of the larger Longchamp duffel I was using (I had some foldable travel scissors that apparently were considered dangerous, even though I've traveled numerous times with it!). The TSA woman had to open my bag (straps and all) but actually asked that I close it up when she was done.

To combat pickpockets in touristy cities, I'll usually stick with something with a strap (K or CTG) and carry an additional canvas tote bag to "cover". It also works well to carry additional purchases that I may not want to draw attention to.
And if I'm taking a shorter, domestic flight in Europe that has more stringent size policies - I'll stick my K/CTG in the same tote.

Hello everyone! Just became the owner of a B40 and am looking for a tote bag (ideally with a shoulder strap) big enough to let me discreetly travel with this bag and protect it from scratching. Does anyone have recommendations for such a big bag? I went to the store to see if the H grooming bag would work but it's sadly not big enough!

For a B40, perhaps the Le Pliage Travel totes?
