Do you travel with your H bag?

can you fit your B35 in your keepall 55 . I always carry my B35 during travel, it sits on top of my carry on roller...easy peasy.if you have a hardcover luggage (ie. rimowa) would be hard to crush. just make sure you stuff clothes or whatever inside the B35 before you put it in the dustbag so it doesnt fold over.
I don't think it'll fit "vertically", if that makes sense.
And also don't think it'll fit "horizontally" because it's too wide. sigh....

The Victoria always seemed like a great travel bag! I'm interested in one, which size did you use and would recommend?
I use the smaller of the two sizes, which I find great to carry daily, as well. It’s not very heavy, has feet (which I love) and is very open and accessible. I’m a longtime purchaser of H jewelry, silks, and shoes, and this is my first bag. Quite under the radar for H and the color options are wonderful. I do recommend it!

I actually bought an LV Neverfull GM in which to nest my B35 when I travel. I call it a “purseducken.” I make sure to put the B in its dustbag to protect it from the red, scratchy lining of the NF.

I also travel with my Evelyne 29 which I lay flat in my carryon. However, when I purchase a new B in Paris, I put the new bag in my Neverfull and fold down the B I came with in my rolling carryon luggage. All my Birkins are Togo and they fluff right back up when I unpack it and aren't floppy at all.

For those of you that have taken your Birkins, how do you travel with them and pack them?

I have a B35 that I've never traveled with; I definitely don't plan on wearing it on the plane (as I'll use my Keepall 55 as my carry-on), so wanted tips on how to get it from point A to point B without crushing in in luggage.
I have only taken my B35 when traveling by car as it is larger than I’d need on most trips by plane. When we went to Paris for a month last year and I wanted more than one bag, I carried my B25 inside my B30 inside a Tumi tote recommended by another TPFer.

ETA: the Tumi tote zipped easily over the handles of both Bs so they were protected and hidden at all times.

Hard shell carry on for sure. I'm in the same dilemma with some of my bags so I'm watching this thread closely!

Thank you. Hmm...I don't have any hard shell carry on so that's going to be a problem, I'm quite attached to my Lindy. I thought about using a Le Pliage (my 26 does fit in the biggest tote with room for other things) but I have to bring a laptop too.

Anyone else find the irony that these bags were some of THE original travel bags, designed for this exact purpose, and a lot of us (myself included) are kinda nervous about actually traveling with them?

IIRC, the original HAC (precursor to the B) was for saddlery but once the car came out, the HAC was modified to be small enough for passengers to get in and out of a car. And the Kelly... "voyage" is in its original name!

I am not precious wih my bag but I am also not abusive. I recently travelled in Singapore Airlines economy and premium economy with B35.

I have a large dust bag from another bag that can cover the B35 handles. That dust bag folds nicely at the bottom and the bag still fits everything I need for the flight as I do not like any other carry-on. The dustbag protected the bag during security screening and on the flight.

B35, covered in dustbag, fit under the seat in front of me in ECONOMY but not in premium. I didn’t put the bag in the overhead compartment.

Many years ago I traveled with my epsom HAC 40 as a carryon luggage, because it is really a travel bag. I stowed it in the overhead compartment, not wrapped in any dustbag or protective cover. I flew easyJet economy.

A few years later I sold it to Collector Square and its condition was evaluated as Très bon état.

Hermès bags are more durable than we imagine.

Good to know that for SQ Economy the B35 can fit under the seat without being squished!
